The Perceptions of NSAID Use among One Midwestern DIII Athletic Department

NSAIDs are commonly used among athletes for a variety of reasons. The purpose of this research is to gain insight on Division III athletes’view and opinions of NSAIDs. A survey was developed incorporating the Theory of Planned Behavior and distributed to all winter and spring athletic teams of one Midwestern Dill University. By utilizing the Theory of Planned Behavior, this study found attitude toward behavior as the strongest predictor of behavioral intention (p \u3c .001), while both Perceived Behavioral control (p \u3c .001) and Intention (p \u3c .001) were statistically significant predictors of behavior. Another finding from the study was that athletes perceived less than 25% of their teammates as taking NSAIDs. Displaying the importance of an athlete s own personal values and opinions of NSAID use was the strongest predictor of intentions. Further assessment should include more athletes to get a better representation of the athletic department

Making the Link – providing mobile media for novice communities in the developing world

In this paper we investigate the media needs of low-income mobile users in a South African township. We develop and deploy a system that allows users to download media at no costs to themselves, in order to probe future media requirements for similar user groups. We discover that, not only are the community interested in developmental information, but are just as interested in sharing local music or videos. Furthermore, the community consume the media in ways that we did not expect which had direct impacts on their lives. Finally, we conclude with some reflections on the value of media and the most appropriate ways to deliver it in developing world communities

SnapAndGrab: accessing and sharing contextual multi-media content using bluetooth enabled camera phones and large situated displays

In this paper we describe a novel interaction technique that allows users to access and share rich multi-media content via a large, situated public display and their own Bluetooth enabled camera phone. The proposed system differs from other solutions in that it does not require any client software to be installed on the user's device. We believe that our solution provides a practical and holistic approach for device-based interactions with a public multi-media information system

Electronic Health Services: An Introduction to Theory and Application

Information and communication technologies have made dramatic changes in our lives. Healthcare communities also made use of these technologies. Using computerized medical knowledge, electronic patients’ information and telecommunications a lot of applications are now established throughout the world. These include better ways of information management, remote education, telemedicine and public services. Yet, a lot of people don't know about these technologies and their applications. Understanding the concepts and ideologies behind these terms, knowing how they will be implemented, what is it like to use them and what benefit will be gained, are basic knowledge steps approaching these technologies. Difficulties using these services, especially in developing countries should not be neglected or underestimated
