Developing a Composite Indicator of Residents’ Well-Being: The Case of the Romagna Area
none3noThere is a growing literature on the assessment of quality of life conditions and well-being in geographical or administrative areas. The paper proposes a new measure of Subjective Well Being (SWB) based on residents’ satisfaction with Personal life domain, Leisure activities, and satisfaction with Life as a whole. The SWB index is constructed by using a Composite Indicator, where the weights are calculated by means of common weight DEA-like models. Results evidence that in an economically developed area as the Romagna, Leisure activities is the domain most affecting SWB.
