Magnetic Moments of JP=3/2+J^P=3/2^+ Heavy Baryons Using Effective Mass and Screened Charge Scheme

Magnetic moments of heavy charmed baryons with JP=3/2+J^P=3/2^+ are predicted employing the concept of effective quark mass and screened charge of quark. We also extend our scheme to predict the 3/2+>1/2+3/2^+ --> 1/2^+ transition magnetic moments. A comparison of our results with the predictions obtained in recent models is presented.Comment: 19 pages, Accepted for publication in EPJ-

A study of quintic B-spline based differential quadrature method for a class of semi-linear Fisher-Kolmogorov equations

    Get PDF
In the present manuscript, Fisher-Kolmogorov equation is solved numerically by adopting a differential quadrature technique that uses quintic B-spline as the basis functions for space integration. The derivatives are approximated using differential quadrature method. The weighting coefficients are obtained by semi-explicit algorithm. Five-band Thomas algorithm has been employed to solve the resultant algebraic system that can be reduced into a penta-diagonal matrix. Stability analysis of method has also been done. The accuracy of the proposed scheme is demonstrated by applying on three test problems. Theoretical attributes such as existence, uniqueness and regularity of Fisher-Kolmogorov equations are also conferred. The outcomes are depicted graphically to confirm accuracy of the findings and performance of this method and a comparative study is done with results available in the literature. The computed results are found to be in good agreement with the analytical solutions

Not AvailableWith the development in ICT, eLearning which is the new paradigm of learning and teaching has become the partand parcel of education programmes in all sectors of life. With the development in Agricultural Science andtechnology, the need for improved agricultural education throughout the world has also been realized. QualityEducation in Agriculture is a service that contributes to national development, integration and regional cohesion. But compared to other business and management fields, eLearning in the field of agriculture is still in the earlyphases of development and adoption. In this direction, an eLearning system “eLearnAgriculture” was designedand developed at IASRI, New Delhi, which is available online at http://elearnagri.iasri.res.in/home. The system hasbeen tested and validated by deploying the sample courses from Agricultural Statistics and Computer Applications. Each course has been distributed into well defined topics with each topic having the online features of glossary, interactive lessons, multimedia enabled presentations, quiz and assignments. The features of this system includesthe separate modules for teachers, learners, evaluators and administrator with the facility of an equation editor formathematical equations and Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) for multimedia enabled coursecontents. The open source Learning Management System, MOODLE has been used for creating the eLearningdocuments, management of contents and users. The modular nature of MOODLE has been used in this system to addthe new features such as an equation editor, frequently required mathematical symbols and a new user interface. The system provides an opportunity to the agricultural educationists to create and link their course contentsonline. This paper presents the technology behind this system along with the content standardization scheme andthe common template followed for creating the courses. Not Availabl

Not AvailableThe Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), the apex body for co-ordinating, guiding and managing research and education in agriculture, and World Bank have come together to announce the first International Conference on 'Blended Learning Ecosystem for Higher Education in Agriculture' in India under the National Agricultural Higher Education Project (NAHEP). The three-day event to be held from March 21-23 in New Delhi will be hosted by ICAR - Indian Agricultural Statistics Research Institute (IASRI), which is a multi-partner global forum to support collaboration for development of state-of-the-art blended education system for higher agricultural education. The aim of this conference is to facilitate the development of a global ecosystem of partners from academia, industry, government, and multilateral and bilateral organizations who would provide critical insights towards design and full-scale implementation of all aspects of the Resilient Agricultural Education System (RAES) under National Agricultural Higher Education Project (NAHEP), that is, learning management system, content repository, and system-wide capacity building. Apart from the engaging discussions the three-day event will also showcase an exhibition on the diverse range of services and offerings in the field of agriculture education and blended learning. Furthermore, these insights would be utilized towards strengthening the quality of the full-scale implementation of this development initiative. The amalgamation of leading practices as identified during the conference would serve as a knowledge, to be utilized by various education systems to adapt and emulate in their own countries. This would strengthen the collaboration among multiple implementing agencies working in the domain of digital education and blended learning ecosystem and provide strategies for making this digital transformation sustainable. The digital initiatives are focused to empower the students/faculties and administration in one way or the other and transform the agricultural education system across the country. The agricultural education system is evolving for the sake of betterment, as this generation of students are not born to be confined to the limits of simple learning; their curiosity is vast and cannot be catered with the legacy education systems. We would like to thank each and every one of the participants who have contributed directly and indirectly for the success of this International Conference on Blended Learning Ecosystem for Higher Education in Agriculture. We would also like to convey our thanks to World Bank, Staff of ICAR Headquarters, Project Implementation Unit of NAHEP, ICAR - IASRI and special thanks to the team from EY LLP, PwC and Pavilion and Interiors for their technical inputs and support in organization and management of this International Conference. Not Availabl
