A Clinical Study on Vrana Shodhana Action of Gomutra Arka in Dushtavrana w.s.r. to Diabetic Foot Ulcer
Context: The diabetic foot ulcer, being chronic in nature involves various tissues, it can be considered as Dushtavrana in Ayurveda. Proper Care for diabetic foot with medication and procedures that has hastened the healing process with less complication is the need of the hour. Aim: To evaluate the Vrana Shodhana action of Gomutra Arka in Dushtavrana w.s.r. to diabetic foot ulcers. Settings and Design: It is a clinical study with pre-test and post-test design. Total number of patient’s taken for the study was 40 excluding dropouts. The patients selected for the study were divided in to 2 groups, Group-A and Group-B, consisting of 20 patients each. Materials and Methods: The wound is examined, exudates, debris, slough were removed, the surrounding area was cleaned and pad soaked in Gomutra Arka was placed and wound dressing was done once in a day. Duration of study was 45 days or till the formation of granulation tissue whichever is earlier, assessment was done every 7 days. For healing Jatyadi Taila was applied after the Shodhana Kriya with Gomutra Arka. Conclusion: Gomutra Arka was having good results in reducing burning sensation, itching, smell, size, depth, discharge, edge, floor and presence of granulation tissues compared to Betadine. Both drugs have equal effect in reducing pain. Both drugs have Shodhana, Lekhana properties, hastens the wound healing process which helps in reduction of wound size. It can be concluded that Gomutra Arka application is effective in all types of Diabetic foot ulcer by their faster, effective Shodhana, Lekhana, Vedana Shamaka, Kandu Shamaka, Daha Shamaka properties compared to Betadine
Effects of Molecular Crowding on stretching of polymers in poor solvent
We consider a linear polymer chain in a disordered environment modeled by
percolation clusters on a square lattice. The disordered environment is meant
to roughly represent molecular crowding as seen in cells. The model may be
viewed as the simplest representation of biopolymers in a cell. We show the
existence of intermediate states during stretching arising as a consequence of
molecular crowding. In the constant distance ensemble the force-extension
curves exhibit oscillations. We observe the emergence of two or more peaks in
the probability distribution curves signaling the coexistence of different
states and indicating that the transition is discontinuous unlike what is
observed in the absence of molecular crowding.Comment: 14 pages, 6 figure
Normal mode analysis for scalar fields in BTZ black hole background
We analyze the possibility of inequivalent boundary conditions for a scalar
field propagating in the BTZ black hole space-time. We find that for certain
ranges of the black hole parameters, the Klein-Gordon operator admits a
one-parameter family of self-adjoint extensions. For this range, the BTZ
space-time is not quantum mechanically complete. We suggest a physically
motivated method for determining the spectra of the Klein-Gordon operator.Comment: 6 pages, no figure, late
Sandpile Model with Activity Inhibition
A new sandpile model is studied in which bonds of the system are inhibited
for activity after a certain number of transmission of grains. This condition
impels an unstable sand column to distribute grains only to those neighbours
which have toppled less than m times. In this non-Abelian model grains
effectively move faster than the ordinary diffusion (super-diffusion). A novel
system size dependent cross-over from Abelian sandpile behaviour to a new

Effect of FCNC mediated Z boson on lepton flavor violating decays
We study the three body lepton flavor violating (LFV) decays , and the semileptonic decay in the flavor changing neutral current (FCNC) mediated boson
model. We also calculate the branching ratios for LFV leptonic B decays,
, , and the
conversion of muon to electron in Ti nucleus. The new physics parameter space
is constrained by using the experimental limits on and
. We find that the branching ratios for and processes could be as large as and . For other LFV B decays the branching ratios are found to be too

SM with four generations: Selected implications for rare B and K decays
We extend our recent work and study implications of the Standard Model with
four generations (SM4) for rare B and K decays. We again take seriously the
several 2-3 anomalies seen in B, decays and interpret them in
the context of this simple extension of the SM. SM4 is also of course of
considerable interest for its potential relevance to dynamical electroweak
symmetry breaking and to baryogenesis. Using experimental information from
processes such as , and mixings, indirect
CP-violation from etc along with oblique corrections, we
constrain the relevant parameter space of the SM4, and find of about
400-600 GeV with a mixing angle in the range of about
(0.05 to 1.4) and with an appreciable CP-odd associated phase,
are favored by the current data. Given the unique role of the CP asymmetry in
due to its gold-plated nature, correlation of that with
many other interesting observables, including the semileptonic asymmetry
() are studied in SM4. We also identify several processes, such as , etc, that are significantly
different in SM4 from the SM. Experimentally the very distinctive process
is also discussed; the branching ratio can be larger or
smaller than in SM, , by a factor of
