LEADERSHIP AND THE TEAM, VITAL ELEMENTS OF MANAGEMENT IN THE BANKING SYSTEM

    Get PDF
The banking industry is a relevant example of dramatical changes in the last 2 years and we can tell that the leaders who administrated the situation has made a good job. Ben Bernanke-US Federal Rezerve Chairman, Lloyd Blankfein-Goldman Sachs Chairman are two of the leaders responsible with regaining the trust in the banking system. Do we have this kind of leaders? Mugur Isarescu, the governor of NBR, acted so that to maintain the same rate of exchange RON per EUR since 2004, not registering any bank failure, creating a national reserve equivalent with all public debt of Romania. To reveal this potential at the level of the Romanian Banking System, this study include a survey made on 4 banks (BCR, Alpha Bank, Piraeus Bank, Credit Europe Bank) meaning more than 30% market share as assets and 10% as number of banks, with a sample of 9 employees per bank.leadership, team, banking, financial and economical crisis

Silver Oxide-Graphene Sensor for Hydrogen Peroxide

    Get PDF
A nonenzymatic, amperometric sensor for Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) was designed by drop coating glassy carbon electrodes (GCEs) with Silver Oxide (Ag2O). Combining Ag2O with Graphene Oxide and a polymer, PEDOT, was also attempted in order to increase stability and electrochemical properties. Using metal oxides along with Graphene Oxide for sensors has been done quite a bit, but Ag2O itself has not been research extensively. So, in order to produce the best H2O2 sensor, the configuration of all components had to be optimized. Three different Ag2O particle shapes (Hexapod, Octahedra, and Cube) were synthesized and tested on the GCEs. The different shapes caused the particles to have different surface properties, so each sample performed differently. The coatings on the electrodes were characterized using UV–Vis spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and x-ray diffraction. The electrochemical properties and sensing abilities of the electrodes were tested using cyclic voltammetry, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, zeta potential, calibration curves, DC current response, and selectivity tests. The Ag2O by itself showed the best electrochemical properties and response to H2O2 as compared to the Ag2O with Graphene Oxide and PEDOT. Of the three Ag2O particle shapes, the Hexapod showed the best electrochemical properties and sensitivity, but the Cube showed the best stability. This sensor will push the limits of previous designs and introduce new uses of Ag2O. It will also provide a foundation for future studies of particle shapes in sensors

Clinical reasoning in feline epilepsy: Which combination of clinical information is useful?

    Get PDF
We sought to identify the association between clinical risk factors and the diagnosis of idiopathic epilepsy (IE) or structural epilepsy (SE) in cats, using statistical models to identify combinations of discrete parameters from the patient signalment, history and neurological examination findings that could suggest the most likely diagnosis. Data for 138 cats with recurrent seizures were reviewed, of which 110 were valid for inclusion. Seizure aetiology was classified as IE in 57% and SE in 43% of cats. Binomial logistic regression analyses demonstrated that pedigree status, older age at seizure onset (particularly >7 years old), abnormal neurological examinations, and ictal vocalisation were associated with a diagnosis of SE compared to IE, and that ictal salivation was more likely to be associated with a diagnosis of IE than SE. These findings support the importance of considering inter-ictal neurological deficits and seizure history in clinical reasoning

Magnetic properties of GaMnAs single layers and GaInMnAs superlattices investigated at low temperature and high magnetic field

Magnetotransport properties of GaMnAs single layers and InGaMnAs/InGaAs superlattice structures were investigated at temperatures from 4 K to 300 K and magnetic fields up to 23 T to study the influence of carriers confinement through different structures. Both single layers and superlattice structures show paramagnetic-to-ferromagnetic phase transition. In GaMnAs/InGaAs superlattice beside the Curie temperature (Tc ~ 40 K), a new phase transition is observed close to 13 K.Comment: 8 pages, 5 figures, Proceedings of the XXXII International School on the Physics of Semiconducting Compounds, Jaszowiec 2003, Polan

THE ECONOMIC GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT AND THE NATURAL ENVIROMENT

    Get PDF
The problems of the environment are complex and closely related to a country’s social-economic status, to its progress in general. The economic growth must not deteriorate the environment; in fact it has to guarantee a constant protection correlated with the improvement of the life quality. The contradiction between the economic growth and the natural environment has suffered transformations during time, the adaptation of the economic growth to the natural resources’ volume and quality at a certain moment becoming a necessity as well as the rational utilization of both natural resources and environmental conditions. We do not have to stop the economic growth and development in order to prevent or eliminate pollution; we have, in fact, to obviate the causes that make the economic growth and development to be accompanied by pollutioneconomic growth, economic development, sustainable development

A Novel PUF-Based Encryption Protocol for Embedded System On Chip

    Get PDF
This paper presents a novel security mechanism for sensitive data stored, acquired or processed by a complex electronic circuit implemented as System-on-Chip (SoC) on an FPGA reconfigurable device. Such circuits are increasingly used in embedded or cyber systems employed in civil and military applications. Managing security in the overarching SoC presents a challenge as part of the process of securing such systems. The proposed new method is based on encrypted and authenticated communications between the microprocessor cores, FPGA fabric and peripherals inside the SoC. The encryption resides in a key generated with Physically Unclonable Function (PUF) circuits and a pseudorandom generator. The conceptual design of the security circuit was validated through hardware implementation, testing and analysis of results
