    Get PDF
The purpose of the research is to study the species composition and ecology of mosquitoes in Yakutia.Materials and methods. The research was performed for herd horses and cattle on pastures in Central, Western and Southern Yakutia in 2005–2021. Faunistic collections were made and the number of blood-sucking mosquito imago was recorded for animals using an entomological net with removable bags, while the average abundance rate of mosquitoes was calculated per 10 net movements in a figure-eight pattern around from 10 repetitions when studying the seasonal abundance dynamics and from 5 repetitions when studying the circadian activity rhythm. Results and discussion. In Yakutia, 15 species of blood-sucking mosquitoes of the family Culicidae were found that belong to three genera: Anopheles, Culiseta, and Aedes. Biotopes occupied by mosquito larvae of the genus Aedes include 74–126 specimens/m2. The first mosquitoes were recorded near an animal bait in the first decade of May. The mass mosquito flight period was observed from the third decade of June to the middle of the second decade of July. The total mosquitofl ight period for the season was 121–124 days. The flight of blood-sucking mosquitoes on the forest pasture continues around the clock, from the third decade of June to the middle of the second decade of July

Porto-hepatic hemodynamics in patients with destructive pancreatitis combined with liver failure

    Get PDF
Extraorgan complications of acute destructive pancreatitis are registered in 60-95 % of patients. Liver failure is registered in one of the four patients with pancreatic necrosis. We analyzed the results of surgical treatment of 122 patients with acute destructive pancreatitis. We studied clinical indicators of liver failure in 103 (84.4 %) patients with acute pancreatitis. The development of portal hypertension with decrease in hepatic volume perfusion is an important element in the pathogenesis of acute pancreatitis and associated liver function abnormalities. In patients with severe and moderate liver failure, the reduction of blood flow in portal vein was registered. It was caused by reduce of portal vein diameter and decrease in linear blood flow velocity. Destructive pancreatitis is accompanied by liver failure with hyperbilirubinemia, increased activity of cytolytic enzymes, incoordination in protein and carbohydrate metabolism as its common manifestations. An important factor in the pathogenesis of liver failure is a reduction of porto-hepatic hemodynamics and as a consequence - hepatic hypoperfusion

A method for protecting herd horses from blood-sucking insects that ensures organic food production

The purpose of the research is to develop a method for protecting herd horses from dangerous blood-sucking dipterans that ensures organic meat production without pesticides.Materials and methods. Dangerous dipterans were collected and counted using an entomological net. The Diptera species identification was determined using the morphological keys. A new technology for protecting herd horses from harmful insects without pesticides used was implemented at Horobut LLC in the Megino-Kangalassky District, the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) in 2021–2023. Pursuant to the Assignment and Regulations, a patent search was performed in the Russian scientific and technical literature on the subject “Develop methods for creating technologies to control and prevent animal diseases that ensure organic food production from conventional agricultural sectors in the Far North”.Results and discussion. The number of mosquitoes and horseflies that attack herd horses in Central Yakutia was established. In the morning and evening peaks, the number of mosquitoes for a 5-minute count was 397–456 mosquitoes belonging to 15 species of three genera: Aedes (Ochlerotatus), Culiseta and Anopheles. During a 15-minute count, the bait horse was attacked by 83 to 107 specimens of horseflies of 21 species and one subspecies of two genera, Hybomitra and Chrysops. For the first time in Central Yakutia, a method of protecting herd horses from attacks by blood-sucking insects was used with positive results without spraying animals with insecticides

Deactivation kinetics of V/Ti-oxide in toluene partial oxidation

    Get PDF
The deactivation kinetics of a V/Ti oxide catalyst were studied in partial oxidn. of toluene to PhCHO and PhCO2H at 523-573 K. The catalyst consists of a monolayer of VOx species, and after oxidative pretreatment, contains isolated monomeric and polymeric metavanadate-like vanadia species under dehydrated conditions as was shown by FT Raman spectroscopy. Under the reaction conditions via in situ DRIFTS, fast formation of adsorbed carboxylate and benzoate species was obsd. accompanied by disappearance of the band of monomeric species. Slow accumulation of maleic anhydride, coupling products and/or PhCO2H on the surface causes deactivation of the catalyst during the reaction. Temp.-programmed oxidn. after the reaction showed formation of high amts. of CO, CO2 and water. Rate consts. for the toluene oxidn. steps were derived via math. modeling of reaction kinetics at low conversion and const. O/toluene ratio of 20:1. The model allows prediction of deactivation dynamics, steady-state rates and selectivity. The highest rate const. was found for the transformation of PhCHO to PhCO2H, which explains the low yield of PhCO2H. [on SciFinder (R)

    Photometric deprojection of edge-on galaxies

Photometric deprojection is used to determine the stellardisk and bulge parameters for several edgeon galaxies from the FGC catalog. The assumption that the galaxies of our sample belonging to the fourth (i.e., lowest) surfacebrightness class in the FGC are edgeon, lowsurfacebrightness (LSB) galaxies is considered.Comment: 6 pages including 3 figures. NEURAL NETWORK MODEL FOR DETERMINING GRAVEL FRACTION TYPE IN TRUCK BODY

97 %.In the construction industry, various fractions of gravel are used as aggregate materials. Considering that the cost of gravel depends on its type, an automated system is required to verify its type and eliminate human errors. This work proposes a method for classifying gravel fractions in images using the EfficientNetb1 architecture with the addition of Spatial Attention, combined with the LDAM loss function. A dataset of 635 images, divided into 7 gravel fractions, was used for training and testing the model. The resulting model demonstrated high accuracy, reaching a level of 97 %
