Kecenderungan Kecanduan Gim Daring Dan Konformitas Kelompok Gim Daring Pada Remaja

Partition Functions in Even Dimensional AdS via Quasinormal Mode Methods

In this note, we calculate the one-loop determinant for a massive scalar (with conformal dimension Ξ”\Delta) in even-dimensional AdSd+1_{d+1} space, using the quasinormal mode method developed in arXiv:0908.2657 by Denef, Hartnoll, and Sachdev. Working first in two dimensions on the related Euclidean hyperbolic plane H2H_2, we find a series of zero modes for negative real values of Ξ”\Delta whose presence indicates a series of poles in the one-loop partition function Z(Ξ”)Z(\Delta) in the Ξ”\Delta complex plane; these poles contribute temperature-independent terms to the thermal AdS partition function computed in arXiv:0908.2657. Our results match those in a series of papers by Camporesi and Higuchi, as well as Gopakumar et.al. in arXiv:1103.3627 and Banerjee et.al. in arXiv:1005.3044. We additionally examine the meaning of these zero modes, finding that they Wick-rotate to quasinormal modes of the AdS2_2 black hole. They are also interpretable as matrix elements of the discrete series representations of SO(2,1)SO(2,1) in the space of smooth functions on S1S^1. We generalize our results to general even dimensional AdS2n_{2n}, again finding a series of zero modes which are related to discrete series representations of SO(2n,1)SO(2n,1), the motion group of H2nH_{2n}.Comment: 27 pages; v2: minor updates and JHEP versio

    1-Jet Riemann-Finsler Geometry for the Three-Dimensional Time

The aim of this paper is to develop on the 1-jet space J^1(R,M^3) the Finsler-like geometry (in the sense of distinguished (d-) connection, d-torsions and d-curvatures) of the rheonomic Berwald-Moor metric of order three. Some natural geometrical field theories (gravitational and electromagnetic) produced by the preceding rheonomic Berwald-Moor metric of order three are also exposed.Comment: 14 page

Charm Decays and Spectroscopy at BABAR

We present searches for rare charm decays of the form Xc+β†’hΒ±β„“βˆ“β„“(β€²)+X_c^+ \to h^{\pm} \ell^{\mp} \ell^{(')^+}, where Xc+X_c^+ is a charm hadron either D+D^+, Ds+D_s^+, or Ξ›c+\Lambda_c^+, and β„“(β€²)Β±\ell^{(')^{\pm}} is an electron or muon. These modes are based on 384 fbβˆ’1fb^{-1} of e+eβˆ’e^+ e^- annihilation data collected at the Ξ₯(4S)\Upsilon(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. We also present the flavor-changing neutral-current decays D0β†’e+eβˆ’D^0 \to e^+e^-, D0β†’ΞΌ+ΞΌβˆ’D^0 \to \mu^+ \mu^-, and D0β†’eΒ±ΞΌβˆ“D^0 \to e^{\pm} \mu^{\mp} that corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 468 fbβˆ’1fb^{-1} of data. The decay D0β†’e+ΞΌβˆ’D^0 \to e^+ \mu^- is further lepton-flavor violating, and thus occur only through very slow neutrino mixing. These decays constitute sensitive probes for possible new-physics contribution. We report new limits on the branching fractions of these decays.Comment: Contributed to the Proceedings of 36th International Conference on High Energy Physics, July 4-11, 2012, Melbourne, Australia.
