A new metric for rotating charged Gauss-Bonnet black holes in AdS spaces
This paper presents a new metric for slowly rotating charged Gauss-Bonnet
black holes in higher dimensional anti-de Sitter spaces. Taking the angular
momentum parameter up to second order, the slowly rotating charged black

Power-laws in recurrence networks from dynamical systems
Recurrence networks are a novel tool of nonlinear time series analysis
allowing the characterisation of higher-order geometric properties of complex
dynamical systems based on recurrences in phase space, which are a fundamental
concept in classical mechanics. In this Letter, we demonstrate that recurrence
networks obtained from various deterministic model systems as well as
experimental data naturally display power-law degree distributions with scaling
exponents that can be derived exclusively from the systems' invariant
densities. For one-dimensional maps, we show analytically that is not
related to the fractal dimension. For continuous systems, we find two distinct
types of behaviour: power-laws with an exponent depending on a
suitable notion of local dimension, and such with fixed .Comment: 6 pages, 7 figure
Postsynaptic calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II is required to limit elaboration of presynaptic and postsynaptic neuronal arbors
Neuronal dendritic and axonal arbors grow to a characteristic size and then stabilize their structures. Activity-dependent stop-growing signals may limit neuronal process elaboration. We tested whether endogenous calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II (CaMKII) activity in postsynaptic optic tectal cells is required to restrict the elaboration of neuronal processes in the Xenopus tadpole retinotectal projection. Optic tectal cells were infected with vaccinia viruses that express CaMKII-specific inhibitory peptides. In vivo time-lapse imaging revealed that expression of CaMKII inhibitors blocked the growth restriction that normally occurs during maturation of tectal cell dendritic arbors. Postsynaptic CaMKII inhibition also increased the growth of presynaptic retinotectal axon arbors. The results indicate that endogenous postsynaptic CaMKII activity is required to limit the growth of presynaptic and postsynaptic arbor structures in vivo
Strangeness spin, magnetic moment and strangeness configurations of the proton
The implications of the empirical signatures for the positivity of the
strangeness magnetic moment , and the negativity of the strangeness
contribution to the proton spin , on the possible
configurations of five quarks in the proton are analyzed. The empirical signs
for the values of these two observables can only be obtained in configurations
where the system is orbitally excited and the quark is in the
ground state. The configurations, in which the is orbitally excited,
which include the conventional congfiguration, with the
exception of that, in which the component has spin 2, yield negative
values for . Here the strangeness spin , the strangeness
magnetic moment and the axial coupling constant are calculated
for all possible configurations of the component of the proton. In
the configuration with flavor-spin symmetry, which is
likely to have the lowest energy, is positive and .Comment: 17 page
Nonclassicality of quantum excitation of classical coherent field in photon loss channel
We investigate the nonclassicality of photon-added coherent states in the
photon loss channel by exploring the entanglement potential and negative Wigner
distribution. The total negative probability defined by the absolute value of
the integral of the Wigner function over the negative distribution region
reduces with the increase of decay time. The total negative probability and the
entanglement potential of pure photon-added coherent states exhibit the similar
dependence on the beam intensity. The reduce of the total negative probability
is consistent with the behavior of entanglement potential for the dissipative
