Micorwave Energy Aided Mineral Comminution
Mineral liberation during beneficiation is essentially through comminution. However, the fact that the major slice (up to 50 percent) in the pie for total energy requirements during beneficiation is occupied by comminution, dictates us to look into various possi-bilities to render comminution more energy-efficient.
In the early 1900s, efforts for reduction in the crushing and grinding energies based on the concept, 'thermally assisted liberation' (T A L) were made but could not be commercially exploited. With the advent of microwave energy and applications in different commercial operat-ions based on its property of heat generation in materials encouraged it in utilizing as an aid during comminution. Microwave energy heats individual phases in an ore matrix to different heat levels as per individual microwave absorption characteristics. Exposure to microwave energy over discrete time intervals prior to comminution results in development of micro fractures due to differential heating. Weakening of interspatial bonding in the ore matrix helps in lesser energy requirements. Numerous studies on microwave energy applications in the field of mineral processing and extractive metallurgy are under-taken in many parts of the world in recent years
Intelligent Hybrid Cloud Data Hosting Services with Effective Cost and High Availability
In this Paper the major concentration is an efficient and user based data hosting service for hybrid cloud. It provides friendly transaction scheme with the features of cost effective and high availability to all users. This framework intelligently puts data into cloud with effective cost and high availability. This gives a plan of proof of information respectability in which the client has utilize to check the rightness of his information. In this study the major cloud storage vendors in India are considered and the parameters like storage space, cost of storage, outgoing bandwidth and type of transition mode. Based on available knowledge on all parameters of existing cloud service providers in India, the intelligent hybrid cloud data hosting framework are assured to customers for low cost and high availability with mode of transition. It guarantees that the ability at the customer side is negligible and which will be helpful for customers
Always Better Control-Vital Essential Desirable analysis of the drugs used in health centres of Ahmedabad district
Background: The basic principle of inventory control is Always Better Control (ABC) based on cost criteria and Vital Essential Desirable (VED) on criticality. Inequity in drug prioritization and expenses directly affects the health of the community. Study design: Based on ABC-VED matrix, inventory analysis was done. Study area: Community health centre (CHC) - Singarva, two primary health centres (PHC) - Kanbha and Sanathal and two urban health centre (UHC) - Amraiwadi and Sabarmati. Study period: December 2012 to December 2013.Methods: The drugs were first categorized by ABC method and then by VED method. On coupling the two techniques, ABC-VED matrix was made and drugs were classified in to Category I (AV + BV +CV + AE + AD), Category II (BE + CE + BD) and Category III (CD).Results: According to VED analysis large amount of money was spent on D category that is; 35% of annual drug expenditure (ADE) from CHC, 7.6% and 23.4% from both the PHC respectively, 20.1% and 24.7% from both the UHCs. On considering the ABC-VED matrix analysis the ADE spent on Class III was 6.6% among CHC, 1.2% and 1.5% among PHC, 2.6% and 7.2% among the UHC.Conclusion: The ADE used among the ABC-VED Class III should be avoided and the ADE on Class II drugs should be controlled and used judiciously

Rapid fabrication of pressure-driven open-channel microfluidic devices in omniphobic RF paper
This paper describes the fabrication of pressure-driven, open-channel microfluidic systems with lateral dimensions of 45-300 microns carved in omniphobic paper using a craft-cutting tool. Vapor phase silanization with a fluorinated alkyltrichlorosilane renders paper omniphobic, but preserves its high gas permeability and mechanical properties. When sealed with tape, the carved channels form conduits capable of guiding liquid transport in the low-Reynolds number regime (i.e. laminar flow). These devices are compatible with complex fluids such as droplets of water in oil. The combination of omniphobic paper and a craft cutter enables the development of new types of valves and switches, such as “fold” valves and “porous switches,” which provide new methods to control fluid flow.Chemistry and Chemical Biolog
State Social Policy: Essence, Models, Directions
The article aims at analyzing domestic and foreign experience in social policy provision (the essence of the concept, its basic models and directions), as it acts as a kind of lever to determine the principles, priorities, directions of the social sphere development. The article suggests a new definition of the "social policy" concept through analyzing the content of the category in question. The public administration approach to understanding the "social policy" concept is also outlined. The article identifies the priority directions of transformations in the EU member states’ social policy, which are taking place due to globalization challenges. Based on these areas, the main principles of European social policy are identified, namely: inclusiveness, gender equality, digitalization, support for youth policy development (employment, education), and financial education of citizens. Social policy in such countries as Canada, Germany, China, and Australia is analyzed, and peculiarities of its changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic are considered in the following areas: support for employment, social protection and the unemployed; social support for certain social groups; support for business development. The main means helping to implement the outlined areas are identified, namely: creation of funds to support certain social groups; formation of favorable conditions for lending to small, medium and large businesses; financing of various social programs (providing employment, training, and wage subsidies). The main directions of domestic social policy in the COVID-19 pandemic are also given. Relevant conclusions on domestic and foreign experience in the implementation of social policy are formed. Further research can be related to the issues of creating a mechanism for an effective social policy implementation
Network Creation Games: Think Global - Act Local
We investigate a non-cooperative game-theoretic model for the formation of
communication networks by selfish agents. Each agent aims for a central
position at minimum cost for creating edges. In particular, the general model
(Fabrikant et al., PODC'03) became popular for studying the structure of the
Internet or social networks. Despite its significance, locality in this game
was first studied only recently (Bil\`o et al., SPAA'14), where a worst case
locality model was presented, which came with a high efficiency loss in terms
of quality of equilibria. Our main contribution is a new and more optimistic
view on locality: agents are limited in their knowledge and actions to their
local view ranges, but can probe different strategies and finally choose the
best. We study the influence of our locality notion on the hardness of
computing best responses, convergence to equilibria, and quality of equilibria.
Moreover, we compare the strength of local versus non-local strategy-changes.
Our results address the gap between the original model and the worst case
locality variant. On the bright side, our efficiency results are in line with
observations from the original model, yet we have a non-constant lower bound on

A facile liquid foam based synthesis of nickel nanoparticles and their subsequent conversion to Ni<SUB>core</SUB>Ag<SUB>shell</SUB> particles: structural characterization and investigation of magnetic properties
A facile route for the synthesis of nickel nanoparticles in stable aqueous foams is reported. The Ni nanoparticles were
roughly 12-15 nm in size and were stable as aqueous suspensions or powders when oleic acid was used as a capping agent. These Ni
nanoparticles were subsequently coated with a silver shell in view of the extra stability and the enhanced manipulative ability afforded
by the silver nanocoating. This was accomplished by a simple transmetallation reaction wherein the nanoparticle surface nickel atoms
act as localized reducing agents for the silver ions in solution. As the silver shell is formed through the surface reaction a reduction in
the average size of the Nicore occurs. After the core-shell structure formation, the Nicore has an
average diameter of 10-20 nm while the Agshell has a thickness of 2-4 nm. The pristine oleic acid coated Ni and
NicoreAgshell nanoparticles were probed for their magnetic characteristics by a vibrating sample
magnetometer. The nascent, oleic acid coated Ni nanoparticles display a low superparamagnetic blocking temperature,
TB, of 20 K. The field dependent magnetic behaviour above and below TB displays the standard
features corresponding to superparamagnetism, as expected for very small Ni crystallites suggesting again that each 12 nm particle is
polycrystalline. The magnetic contribution in the NicoreAgshell system comes from only the Ni core
and predictably, the blocking temperature of this system is below 12 K due to the smaller size of the Ni core
