Neuroendocrine tumor of the hepatic flexure: a rare colonic tumor

Neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) are rare, particularly common in the rectum. NETs of the colon (not including the appendix and rectum) are most commonly found in the cecum, and hepatic flexure involvement is rather infrequent. The clinical presentation of colonic NETs is dependent on the primary site. Many are discovered either at the time of screening or during the investigation of abdominal pain or anemia. Scientometric Assessment of Publications on Electronic Resource Management and Electronic Resource Management System during 2000 - 2019

Electronic Resource Management is an eminent research area, and Electronic Resource Management System has become now an inevitable part of any academic library system. As such, considerable literature has been published on ERM and ERMS. Therefore, this article attempts to analyze the growth of scholar’s research output in the areas of electronic resource management, electronic resource management system during the period 2000 to 2019. This article examines 347 publications across the globe on the topic of “ERM” and “ERMS”. The analysis on these topics has been done, taking into account the total research output of these main areas as reflected in the SCOPUS database. The present study analyses the year-wise cumulative growth of research publications, list of top highly cited articles, list of core journals, the pattern of authorship, most prolific authors, types of publications preferred by the authors in the field of electronic resource management and electronic resource management system

Electronic Resource Management System Needs and Problems: A Study on Perceptions of Library Professionals on the Use of CORAL

The COVID19 pandemic has adversely affected the library environment and its services. Since academic institutions are closed, librarians are forced to adopt more electronic contents to meet the need of users. Managing the complexity of eResources is another great challenge for the librarians. As existing Library Management Software is incompetent to manage the entire life cycle of electronic resources, open source electronic resource management system products are rapidly gaining momentum around the globe. In this context, the present research study examines the library practices regarding the use of CORAL an open source electronic resource management (ERMS) for the effective management of subscribed eResources in their respective libraries nationwide. The paper also investigates the problems and challenges faced by the library while installing and using CORAL ERMS. It also analyses the overall perception of Library Professionals towards the CORAL and the level of satisfaction with the features, functions and different modules of CORAL ERMS. The lion\u27s share of the Library Professionals is satisfied with the CORAL. However, due to lack of vendor support and shortage of skilled workforce, the software is getting less attention across the library professionals than it deserves

Evaluation of outcome following clamp assisted mini open reduction and internal fixation with intramedullary nailing of subtrochanteric femoral fractures

Background: Subtrochanteric fractures of the proximal femur have been defined as the fractures extending from lesser trochanter distally for 5 cm. These fractures usually occur in two age distributions. In the elderly osteopenic population resulting from trivial trauma as fall from standing height or in the younger ones as a result of high energy trauma. Incidence has been on the rise and they comprise about 7 to 10% hip fractures and could lead quickly to large amount of blood loss and other complications.Methods: This is a multicentric prospective prognostic study level 1 consisting of 25 patients admitted in government civil hospital, Ahmedabad during April 2013 to May 2015 having high subtrochanteric femur fractures treated by clamp assisted reduction and intramedullary nailing. Out of these, 20 patients (80%) came for final follow up with average follow up of 11.5 months and evaluated for union, complication and functional outcome.Results: In our study final outcome is assessed based on hip outcome score (modified) based on which 85% had excellent outcome, 10% had good outcome and 5% had fair outcome with none of the patient having poor outcome.Conclusions: We found that clamp-assisted reduction and intramedullary nail fixation provides excellent reduction quality, high rate of fracture union, with no apparent increase in complications in subtrochanteric fractures of the femur.

Greb1 is required for axial elongation and segmentation in vertebrate embryos

During vertebrate embryonic development, the formation of axial structures is driven by a population of stem-like cells that reside in a region of the tailbud called the chordoneural hinge (CNH). We have compared the CNH transcriptome with those of surrounding tissues and shown that the CNH and tailbud mesoderm are transcriptionally similar, and distinct from the presomitic mesoderm. Amongst CNH-enriched genes are several that are required for axial elongation, including Wnt3a, Cdx2, Brachyury/T and Fgf8 , and androgen/estrogen receptor nuclear signalling components such as Greb1 . We show that the pattern and duration of tailbud Greb1 expression is conserved in mouse, zebrafish, and chicken embryos, and that Greb1 is required for axial elongation and somitogenesis in zebrafish embryos. The axial truncation phenotype of Greb1 morphant embryos is explained by much reduced expression of No tail ( Ntl/Brachyury ) which is required for axial progenitor maintenance. Genetic variability and character association in fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum L.)

Sixty four genotypes of fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum) were evaluated for geneticvariability, correlation and path coefficient analysis at Jagudan (Gujarat). Phenotypic andgenotypic coefficients of variability were high for grain yield plant-1, number of pods plant-1and number of primary branches plant-1. Moderate heritability estimates along with highgenetic advance as percentage of mean were recorded for number of pods plant-1. Highheritability estimates along with moderate to low genetic advance as percentage of meanwere recorded for days to maturity and plant height. Grain yield was positively correlatedwith number of pods plant-1, number of seeds pod-1 and 1000 seed weight. Results of pathanalysis revealed that number of pods plant-1, days to 50% flowering and test weight hadhighest positive direct effects on grain yield. It was concluded that improvement of seed yieldin fenugreek is possible through selection for number of pods and seed weight throughnumber of grains and length of pods. &nbsp
