    The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the EFB Trichocompost with NPK formulations and get the best formulations for plant growth those derived from immature oil palm twin sprouts plant. The research was conducted experimentally using a randomized block design (RBD), which consists of 5 treatments and 3 replications, from June 2016 to September 2016 at the Experimental Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, Rimbo Panjang village, Riau Province. Such treatment was: the formulation EFB Trichocompost with NPK, ie: P0 (without fertilizer), P1 (EFB Trichocompost 10 ton / ha + NPK 6 tablets), P2 (EFB Trichocompost 10 ton / ha + NPK 8 tablets), P3 (EFB Trichocompost 20 ton / ha + NPK 6 tablets), P4 (EFB Trichocompost 20 ton / ha + NPK 8 tablets). The parameters measured were the increase of plant height, number of leaves, trunk circumference, midrib length, and petiole length. Data were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance and Duncan's multiple range test at the 5 % level. The results showed implementation of formulations of 20 ton / ha EFB Trichocompost with 8 tablets NPK was the best treatment on all parameters in immature oil palm plant origin twin sprouts

    The objective of the research was to study the agronomic characteristics ofsorghum and studying genetic relationships genotypes of 13 sweet sorghum. Thisresearch has been carried on in the field experiment and Plant BreedingLaboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, Pekanbaru, from April2013 to September 2013.The data were examined by analysis of variance consistof 13 treatments and 3 replications that contained 39 experimmental units. Thesetreatments consist of BATAN\u27s sweet sorghum strains, there are Patir-1, Patir-2,Patir-3, Patir-4, Patir-5, Patir-6, Patir-7, Patir-8, Patir-9, Patir-10 and 3 sweetSorghum varieties as a comparison, there are Kawali, Mandau and Pahat.GenotypePatir-10 has the highest of seed weight are 3.78 ton/ha compare to othergenotypes. The results of the research showed that clusters are the differencesand similarities between the 13 sorghum genotypes tested on quantitative andqualitative variables. Based on the cluster analysisPatir 2 and Patir 3 are genotype that has nearst genetic with the lowest genetic distance is 1.71. Patir 9 and Mandau have farthest genetic relationship with the highest genetic distance is 84.24

    The objectives of this research to determine the genetic variability from crosses of tomato and resiproc in the lowland. Research carried out at the experimental station in Faculty of Agriculture at the Riau University in June until October 2013. This research used a Completely RandomizedBlock Design,10 treatments and 3 replications, so that there were 30 units of experimental. The treatment consist of 10 genotipes of tomato is IPB T-13 x IPB T–64, IPB T-64 x IPB T–13, IPB T-13 x IPB T-78, IPB T- 78x IPB T-13, IPB T-64 x IPB T-78, IPB T-78 x IPB T-64, IPB T-3 x IPB T-64, IPB T-64 x IPB T-3, IPB T-3 x IPB T-78 and IPB T-78 x IPB T-3. Parameters were observed: the flowering date, harvesting date, plant height, stem diameters, fruit length, fruit diameters, flesh thickness, number of cavities, fruit weight, weight fruit of plants. Genotype IPB T 3 x IPB T 78 has a fastresponse of flowering and harvesting as well as plant height and weight. Genotype IPB T 78 x IPB T 64 has a weight fruit. While genotype IPB T 64 x IPB T 78 has a higher fruit weight per plant (986,1 g)

    Study lasted from June until November 2011, at Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Leuwikopo, Dramaga. This research using Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD), one factor consisting of 20 genotypes of chilli that comes from the collection of IPB (C2, C5, C105, C111, C117, C118, C120, C160, C51, F5110005-91-13-5, F5110005-91-13-12, C157, C159, F5120005-5-11-1, F8002005-2-9-12-1, C140, C19, C18, C143, C145) with three replications. Data were analyzed using the F test and test of Duncan New's Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) 5% level. Result shows that the genetic variability and heritabilty of 20 genotypes chilli in quantitative parameters were different each other.Genotypic coeffecients of variation (GCV) at intervals between 1,36 -22,11%. The heritability value at intervals 42.05%-91.80%. Almost all of the observed variables had high heritability value, except leaf length and flowering date which is only on intermediate criteria. For weight per fruit, C143 reveal significant value than other genotype and yield per plant C5 reveal significant value than the others. It indicate that C143 and C5 can be selected as Hybrid chilli plant. The genotypes tested in this study had a high level of variability that could potentially be used as a parent for crosses. Meanwhile, the 20 genotypes that observed qualitiatively shows it genetic relationship

    Tomato plants were one type of horticultural crops those play an important role in the nutritional needs of the community, because it contains vitamins and minerals needed for health.One of the critical success factors of tomato cultivation was the use of high yielding varieties that adapted well to the growth environment.This study aims to obtain best yield of some tomato genotypes that can grow well in the lowlands. This study using a completely randomized block design (CRBD)consisting of 6 treatments and 3 replications, so there are 18 experimental units. The treatmentswere: genotype IPB T64-2-2 (1), IPB T43-6-8, IPB T33-1-3, IPB T30- 4-4, Intan variety, and Karina.The genotypes treatments were significantly affect the plant height, stem diameter, days to flowering, harvesting time, fruit diameter, number of fruit cavities, fruit flesh thickness, number of seeds per gram, weight per fruit, and total weight per plant.The experimental result showed those genotypes IPB T43-6-8 and IPB T33-1-3 has the highest total fruit weight.     The objective of this research was to estimate genetic parameters such as variability, heritability, various agronomic characters in tomato population through crossbreeding FI. Research was arranged experimentally using Randomized Block Design (RBD) consists of 13 tomato genotypes from crosses with 3 replications were placed haphazardly. Seedlings were transplanted to a plot with a size of 1 m x 5 m with a spacing of 50 cm x 50 centimeter. Each plot treatment plant sample taken as many as 10 plants of 20 tomato plants for plant height, stalk diameter, weight per fruit, fruit length, thick fruit pulp, fruit diameter, total fruit number per plant and total fruit weight per plant. Analysis of variation was later translated into genetic parameters with Griffing method IV models. The outcomes indicated that the genotype of Champions can be chosen as one of the hybrid parents because it delivers a sound value to improve the character of days to flowering, stem diameter, harvesting, thick fruit pulp, fruit diameter, weight per fruit, and total fruit weight per plant. Genotype T78x1, T13x1, T3x13 and T1x13 has a value corresponding to improve the role of stem diameter, days to flowering, and weight per fruit. Characters that have a high heritability with criteria that plant height, flower age, harvesting, planting fruit weight, number of fruits per plant, weight per fruit, fruit number and length of the cavity are positively correlated with total fruit weight per plant

    This research aim is to determine the characteristics of genotypes of Chili and to leard the genetic relationship between the tested genotypes on peatlands. This research lasted from January to June 2013 in peatland experimental garden, Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau, Rimbo Panjang Village, Tambang district Kampar regency. The experimental design used was randomized block design which is consist by 15 treatment with three replications then obtained 24 units of the experiment. There are two parameters observed on this research, quantitative and qualitative parameters. Qualitative parameters analyzed statistically by using analysis of variance, followed by Duncan New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at the level of 5%, meanwhile qualitative parameters used for Cluster Analysis referring to Descriptor For Capsicum (IPGRI). Results showed that there are 15 genotypes of chilli differences and similarities based on quantitative and qualitative parameters. The genetic relationship from tested genotypes seen in the qualitative parameters (number of flower per axil, corolla colour, corolla spot colour, filament colour, corolla shape, fruit colour intermediate phase, fruit shape, fruit point shape and the structure of fruit point shape)
