An Analysis of Illocutioanry Acts of the Main Character of Transformers Movie “Dark of the Moon”

The objectives of this research were to find out the five types of illocutionary acts, namely: Directive, Commisives, Expressive, Assertive, Declarative and the dominant one used in Transformers”Dark of the Moon”. This research was conducted by using quantitative descriptive design. It took 735 utterances taken from the subtitle of Transformers “Dark of the Moon” which were released in June 29, 2011. The result of analyzing found five types of process were used in Transformers “Dark of the Moon”, they were: Directive, Commisive, Expressive, Assertive and Declarative. There were 735 illocutionary acts in 735 utterances. The findings of data analysis showed that the total numbers of process from the five types of illocutionary acts were: Directive is 361 (47,94%) utterances. The total number of Commisive is 39 (5,17%) utterances. The total number of Expressive is 58 (7,70%) utterances. The total number of Assertives is 294 (39,04%). And the total number of Declaratives is 1 (0,13%). It means that Directive is the most dominant type of Illocutionary Acts used in Transformers “Dark of the Moon” movie

Solation and Characterization of a Novel Benzoate- Utilizing Serratia Marcescens

A new benzoate-utilizing strain, Serratia marcescens DS-8, isolated from the environment was characterized. The strain was enterobacilli, Gram negative, mesophilic, non halophilic, and aerobic bacterium that showed motile ovale-rod shaped cells. The isolate produced extracellular chitinase, protease, and prodigiosin (a red pigment produced by several Serratia strains yielding bright red or pink colonies). A physiological assay using Microbact* test showed that the strain was closely related to Klebsiella ozaenae (49.85%) and Serratia liquefaciens (24.42%), respectively. However, 16S rRNA sequence analysis indicated that the strain was closely related to S. marcescens DSM 30121 with similarity level of 98%. DS-8 strain was able to synthesize its own vitamins. Optimum growth in benzoate was obtained at pH between 7-8.5 and NaCl concentration of 1-1.5% (w/v). The isolate could grow in benzoate-containing medium up to 10 mM. Identifikasi Benda Menggunakan Kamera Berbasis Android

Dewasa ini, Android adalah salah satu sistem operasi yang sangat populer di masyarakat. Android adalah sistem operasi yang berbasis Linux untuk telepon seluler seperti telepon pintar. Android menyediakan platform terbuka bagi para pengembang, sehingga pengguna bisa membuat aplikasi baru di dalamnya. Aplikasi yang mereka ciptakan sendiri bisa untuk digunakan pada bermacam peranti bergerak. Pada penelitian ini, perangkat yang akan diintegrasikan menggunakan Android adalah sebuah robot humanoid berbasis mikrokontroler CM-510. Robot humanoid ini bergerak berdasarkan sinyal IR yang diterimanya dari sebuah remote control yang mengirimkan sinyal IR tersebut. Perancangan yang diperlukan adalah perancangan hardware meliputi pembuatan RS-232 yang berfungsi sebagai komunikasi robot humanoid dengan handphone Android, lalu pembuatan mekanika gerak kepala robot agar kepala robot dapat bergerak. Untuk perancangan software meliputi pembuatan aplikasi handphone Android, dan pemrograman humanoid. Dengan adanya teknologi ini, diharapkan robot humanoid tersebut dapat bergerak secara otomatis mencari, mendekati, dan menendang sebuah benda yang menjadi objek tujuannya. Modul interface yang digunakan untuk menghubungkan Android dengan robot humanoid tersebut adalah Modul IOIO. Modul IOIO ini memiliki sebuah port USB, dan beberapa port I/O. Port USB akan menerima input dari Android dan memberikan output melalui I/O port yang nantinya akan dihubungkan ke robot humanoid tersebut

Accuracy of Social Self-Perceptions and Peer Competence in Middle Childhood

The role of children\u27s social self-perceptions in their social development was examined. Participants were 644 fourth graders who completed peer nominations and self-ratings to measure their self-perceptions. Comparisons of children\u27s self-ratings with ratings by teachers yielded scores for self-other agreement. Comparisons of children\u27s perceived liked-most and liked-least nominations with peers\u27 actual likedmost and liked-least nominations yielded scores for dyadic perception accuracy. Significant relationships were found among the self-perception measures and they were moderately stable over time. Significant sociometric status and gender effects were found for both generalized and dyadic perceptions. Inaccurate social self-perceptions predicted loneliness and internalizing behaviors. The results are consistent with the symbolic interactionist view of the link between social perceptions and relationships

Uji Aktivitas Antioksidan Pada Makro Alga Coklat Hydroclatrus Clathratus (C. Agardh) Hower Dan Padina Minor Yamada

Makro alga cokelat merupakan salah satu sumber senyawa bioaktif, seperti antioksidan. Antioksidan merupakan zat yang dapat melawan pengaruh bahaya dari radikal bebas yang terbentuk sebagai hasil metabolisme oksidatif, yaitu hasil dari reaksi-reaksi kimia dan proses metabolik yang terjadi dalam tubuh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji aktivitas antioksidan pada alga cokelat Hydroclathrus clathratus (C. Agardh) Hower dan Padina minor Yamada yang diambil dari perairan Tongkeina kota Manado dan perairan Selat Lembeh kota Bitung dengan menggunakan metode DPPH (1,1-difenil-2-pikrilhidrazil. Hasil penelitian dari ekstrak pigmen dalam PE pada makro alga H. clathratus (C. Agardh) Hower dan P. Minor Yamada memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan ekstrak dalam etanol. Semakin kecil nilai absorban maka semakin tinggi nilai inhibisi dimana aktivitas antioksidan pada ekstrak semakin tinggi. Ekstrak yang digunakan memiliki nilai inhibisi yang mendekati dengan nilai inhibisi Kontrol yang digunakan yaitu asam askorbat dan tokoferol
