    PRINCIPALES INDICADORES ENTOMOLÓGICOS DE CHAGAS EN GUAYAQUIL, ECUADOR

    The main entomological indicators and their captured species related to triatomines were identified according to data obtained in a preventive intervention of the vector transmitting the parasite Trypanosoma cruzi in District D03 of Cerro Santa Ana, in Zone 8 of Health of the Ministry of Public Health, Guayaquil, Ecuador during the first quarter of 2019. This is a descriptive, crosssectional study developed on an information analysis of triatomines catches. With 29 specimens of T. dimidiata among nymphs and adults, the staff with the greatest expertise in the search strategy was re-grouped, and applied control activities with intra-home spraying, aligned to the PAHO/ WHO resolution, obtaining that the index of infestation domiciliary by triatominium was 1.65%, the natural infection rate for T. cruzi corresponds to 78.3%; The observed triatomines density was 6.65%, and the colonization index corresponds to 55.5%. The results suggest the need for continuous surveillance, facilitated by the association between field teams and communities, with emphasis on the proposal of health education for the recognition and notification of triatomines by the population, this is not aware of the dangers in the health generated by these vectors in their homes. Colombia. s/d.  Se identificaron los principales indicadores entomológicos y sus especies capturadas relacionados con triatominos de acuerdo a datos obtenidos en una intervención preventiva del vector transmisor del parásito Trypanosoma cruzi en el Distrito D03 del Cerro Santa Ana en la Zona 8 de Salud del Ministerio de Salud Pública, Guayaquil, Ecuador durante el primer trimestre del año 2019. Se trata de un estudio descriptivo, transversal desarrollado sobre un análisis de información de capturas de triatominos. Resultando 29 especímenes de T. dimidiata entre ninfas y adultos, se reagrupo el personal con mayor experticia en la estrategia de búsqueda, aplicando actividades de control con rociado intradomiciliar, alineadas a la resolución de la OPS/OMS, obteniendo que el índice de infestación domiciliar por triatominos fue de 1,65%, el índice de infección natural por T.cruzi corresponde a 78,3%; de densidad triatomínica observada fué de 6.65%, y el índice de colonización corresponde al 55,5%. Los resultados sugieren la necesidad de una vigilancia continua, facilitada por la asociación entre equipos de campo y comunidades, con énfasis en la propuesta de educación sanitaria para el reconocimiento y notificación de triatominos por parte de la población, esta no es consciente de los peligros en la salud que generan estos vectores en sus hogares.
