On the genus Halirages (Crustacea, Amphipoda), with the description of two new species from Scandinavia and Arctic Europe

A new common deep-sea species of Halirages Boeck, 1871 closely related to H.qvadridentatus G.O. Sars, 1877, H.cainae sp. nov., is described after specimens collected in the Norwegian Sea during the MAREANO 2009-111 cruise. Examination of the syntypes of H. elegans Norman, 1882 demonstrates that Norman's species is a junior synonym of H.qvadridentatus G.O. Sars, 1877 and that the species usually named H.elegans in literature was actually undescribed. The name H.stappersi sp. nov. is proposed for that species. A key to and a checklist of Halirages species is given

Description of Pseudocoutierea wirtzi sp. nov., a new cnidarian-associated pontoniine shrimp from Cape Verde Islands, with decalcified meral swellings in walking legs (Crustacea, Decapoda, Caridea)

A new pontoniine shrimp from Cape Verde Islands, Pseudocoutierea wirtzi sp. nov. is described here from specimens collected on the gorgonian Leptogorgia gaini STIASNY, 1940 and the antipatharian Stichopathes lutkeni Brook, 1889. This is the first record of the genus Pseudocoutierea HOLTHUIS, 1951 in the Eastern Atlantic. P. wirtzi sp. nov. has a blunt protuberance on the hepatic/ postorbital area, which is lacking in the previously described Pseudocoutierea species. In the new species, the last three pairs of pereiopods have a large subdistal swelling on their merus. The proximal surface of these swellings is decalcified and their internal tissue is granular. It is not impossible that these structures are of glandular nature. The new pontoniine shrimp is briefly compared with other related or possibly related genera and species. Some previously overlooked but important morphological characters of the distantly related species Balssia gasti (BALSS, 1921) are also described and illustrated here

New observations on Periclimenes kornii (Lo Bianco, 1903) (Crustacea, Decapoda, Caridea)

Three adult specimens of the extremely rare and poorly known bathyal pontoniine shrimp Periclimenes kornii (Lo BlANCO) were discovered in the SOLLAUD'S collection, now deposited in the Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle, Paris. These specimens, trawled in the Alboran Sea, make it possible to complete the description of the species. A male specimen is studied for the first time, and the first figures of mouthparts are given

Description of Periclimenes wirtzi sp. nov., a new pontoniine shrimp from Madeira and the Azores, with a checklist of Eastern Atlantic and Mediterranean Pontoniinae (Crustacea, Decapoda, Caridea)

A new Periclimens from Madeira and the Azores, P. wirtzi sp. nov. is described. This pontoniine shrimp has an extremely long and unusually narrow rostrum with only a few teeth on the distal half of its dorsal border. It was found in large numbers on black corals of the genus Anthipathes at 29-40m depth. A provisional checklist of Eastern Atlantic and Mediterranean Pontoniinae is given
