Elimination of riba from the economy & islamic modes of financing

In view of the clear and unequivocal commandments of the Holy Qur'an on the subject the elimination of riba is the bounden duty of an Islamic State. The Constitution of Pakistan 1973, in its article 227 provides that all existing laws shall be brought in conformity with the injunctions of Islam as laid down in the Holy Qur'an and Sunnah.xvi, 171 hlm.: ill.; 25c
