The notion groupware contents the information technologies that facilitate the team work and that are intended for communication, collaboration, coordination within the organization. Having as base software routines for teamwork, the groupware technology has many applications in the management process of the organization. The notion groupware refers to a special class of web packages connected to a network of personal computers: email, chat, video IP, newsgroups, etc. The studies from the literature consider the groupware as a class of software programs that facilitate the coordination, the communication and the cooperation within the member of a group. Get PDF
The adhesion to the European Union in January 2007 induced significant changes in the Romania’s foreign trade. In the new circumstances, the Romanian firms have to face an increased competition, but they could also fructify the opportunities of the European single market. Other changes could occur in the next years, when Romania is expected to adhere to the Eurozone. This paper explores the Romanian exports and imports evolution, in relation with the changes generated by the European integration. Such an analysis is quite complex due to the relatively short period of time passed since the adhesion to the European Union. Moreover, the global crisis affected substantially both the exports and the imports. We search for the major structural transformation in the Romanian foreign trade by time series analysis.Romanian foreign trade, European integration, Structural breaks

    Motivations for the Romanian exporters

In the last decade Romania’s trade balance experienced substantial deficits. This external disequilibrium which affected the macroeconomic stability could be ameliorated by increasing the exports. Romania’s adhesion to the European Union in January 2007 created new opportunities for the exporters. However, in the new circumstances, the Romanian authorities are not allowed to apply the classical tools of the trade policy, such as subsidies or tax decrease, in order to stimulate the exports. Instead, assistance consisting in consultancy and facilities could be offered to the exporters for a better communication with foreign partners. Understanding the exporters’ motivation could be useful in such assistance. In this paper we approach the Romanian exporters’ perceptions about their activity. We use an investigation applied to the Romanian firms with export activity.Romanian exporters, Government assistance, Export performance

We find some significant differences between the calendar anomalies from the two markets. We also discover that in the last years within – month effects experienced some changes that could be linked with the development of the Romanian financial markets, by the adhesion to the European Union and by the global crisis.Calendar patterns, Romanian capital market, turn of the month effect, third month effect, half of the month effect

    Get PDF
This paper explores the dynamic relation between the exports and the gross domestic product from Romania. We employ the Johansen cointegration procedure and the Granger causality test to identify the interactions between the two variables. We find no cointegration but a unidirectional causality from exports to gross domestic product. We conclude the implementation of an export promotion strategy could be a solution for the Romanian national economy to surpass the actual severe recession.Export led-growth, Cointegration, Granger Causality
