Fragmentation of Nuclei at Intermediate and High Energies in Modified Cascade Model
The process of nuclear multifragmentation has been implemented, together with
evaporation and fission channels of the disintegration of excited remnants in
nucleus-nucleus collisions using percolation theory and the intranuclear
cascade model. Colliding nuclei are treated as face--centered--cubic lattices
with nucleons occupying the nodes of the lattice. The site--bond percolation
model is used. The code can be applied for calculation of the fragmentation of
nuclei in spallation and multifragmentation reactions.Comment: 19 pages, 10 figure
Ranking Templates for Linear Loops
We present a new method for the constraint-based synthesis of termination
arguments for linear loop programs based on linear ranking templates. Linear
ranking templates are parametrized, well-founded relations such that an
assignment to the parameters gives rise to a ranking function. This approach
generalizes existing methods and enables us to use templates for many different
ranking functions with affine-linear components. We discuss templates for
multiphase, piecewise, and lexicographic ranking functions. Because these
ranking templates require both strict and non-strict inequalities, we use
Motzkin's Transposition Theorem instead of Farkas Lemma to transform the
generated -constraint into an -constraint.Comment: TACAS 201
Ceramic regenerator systems development program
Ceramic regenerator cores are considered that can be used in passenger car gas turbine engines, Stirling engines, and industrial/truck gas turbine engines. Improved materials and design concepts aimed at reducing or eliminating chemical attack were placed on durability tests/in industrial gas turbine engines. A regenerator core made from aluminum silicate shows minimal evidence of chemical attack damage after 7804 hours of engine test at 800 C and another showed little distress after 4983 hours at 982 C. The results obtained in ceramic material screening tests, aerothermodynamic performance tests, stress analysis, cost studies, and material specifications are also included
Power spectra of TASEPs with a localized slow site
The totally asymmetric simple exclusion process (TASEP) with a localized
defect is revisited in this article with attention paid to the power spectra of
the particle occupancy N(t). Intrigued by the oscillatory behaviors in the
power spectra of an ordinary TASEP in high/low density phase(HD/LD) observed by
Adams et al. (2007 Phys. Rev. Lett. 99 020601), we introduce a single slow site
with hopping rate q<1 to the system. As the power spectrum contains
time-correlation information of the particle occupancy of the system, we are
particularly interested in how the defect affects fluctuation in particle
number of the left and right subsystems as well as that of the entire system.
Exploiting Monte Carlo simulations, we observe the disappearance of
oscillations when the defect is located at the center of the system. When the
defect is off center, oscillations are restored. To explore the origin of such
phenomenon, we use a linearized Langevin equation to calculate the power
spectrum for the sublattices and the whole lattice. We provide insights into
the interactions between the sublattices coupled through the defect site for
