    Las redes sociales como herramienta electoral y la nueva configuración política en América Latina: El Salvador

    RESUMEN: Los autores presentan los resultados investigados a continuación, en América latina las campañas electorales de forma digital han sido inspiradas por las estrategias implementadas en EEUU por Barack Obama con el uso de las redes sociales y posteriormente, las de Trump con el uso del Big Data, por lo que con la utilización de algunas de estas estrategias de comunicación las redes sociales como herramienta electoral han favorecido de forma positivas a una comunicación política efectiva e inmediata hacia los sectores activos en las redes sociales, sin embargo cabe recalcar que el mero uso de las redes sociales como herramienta comunicacional no garantiza una ventaja ante el adversario ya que esta depende las estrategias que se implementen partiendo de los diferentes contextos económicos, políticos, sociales, culturales, religiosos, etc. Pues estos son determinantes para diseñar las estrategias que se implementan a través de las redes sociales, por lo que se argumenta que la nueva forma de hacer política partidaria debe adaptarse a las nuevas tecnologías y ser parte de la reconfiguración política sin olvidarse de la conexión con las necesidades reales de los ciudadanos en sus diferentes contextos. ABSTRACT: The authors present the results investigated below, in Latin America digital electoral campaigns have been inspired by the strategies implemented in the US by Barack Obama with the use of social networks and later, those of Trump with the use of Big Data, Therefore, with the use of some of these communication strategies, social networks as an electoral tool have positively favored effective and immediate political communication towards the sectors active in social networks; however, it should be noted that the mere use of the Social networks as a communication tool does not guarantee an advantage over the adversary since this depends on the strategies that are implemented based on the different economic, political, social, cultural, religious contexts, etc. Well, these are determinant to design the strategies that are implemented through social networks, for which it is argued that the new way of doing party politics must adapt to new technologies and be part of the political reconfiguration without forgetting the connection with the real needs of citizens in their different context

    Reimagining Wilmer's Park

University of Maryland, College Park.Wilmer’s Park is a “80-acre parcel containing the ruins of a dance hall, motel, ranch house, covered stage, baseball and football fields. As a major stop on the Chitlin Circuit, Wilmer’s Park opened its doors to African-American musicians, entertainers, athletes and fans from the early 1950s through the late 1960s. Arthur Wilmer used his experience and connections developed as the owner of a night club in Washington, D. C. to bring both popular acts and up-and-coming performers to rural Prince George’s County; the bandstand at Wilmer’s Park showcased everyone from Duke Ellington and Otis Redding to the Temptations, Patti La Belle, and a young Stevie Wonder. The former tobacco farm played an important role in exposing emerging musicians to local African Americans during a time of segregation.” The park has been closed for 10+ years and the purpose of this project is to transform Wilmer’s Park for the residents of Brandywine or nearby communities. For this project, students work in teams of three to design a master plan along with an individual detailed site plan. The design program for these plans came from the residents’ comments from community engagement workshops, notes from Councilman Harrison’s interview, important stakeholders, the field trip, and guest lectures. The master plan does not include all 80 acres of the park and often identifies a phasing plan for the entire project.Prince George's County Parks Departmen
