Rhetorical Critic's Role and Mission in Communication

AbstractThe Classical Greco-Roman rhetoric is considered to be the humanist basis of the Western cultures. This study aims to highlight the importance of the rhetorical tradition in the study of human communication. Rhetorical criticism of the communication sciences is one of the main approaches to qualitative textual analysis. In a meta-theoretic approach our work tries to establish the specific rhetorical criticism as a qualitative, interpretative and subjective discourse research method in our contemporary communicative society. We argue that the teacher who teaches his students rhetorical criticism provides a range of methodological and educational clues such as: understanding other people, clarification of the values, aesthetic appeal, community consensus and changing of the society. After all, the rhetorical critic's role is to internalize and propose a humanist alternative opposed to the dominant objective paradigm. Rhetorical critic's mission is to come up with his own discursive voice which is meant to communicate about the contemporary social and political challenges. In the spirit of the methodological pluralism we consider that in the field of communication, the practitioners of quantitative and qualitative methods should enjoy recognition and mutual respect

AbstractWriting paragraphs in a foreign language is a very complex exercise, which implies not only knowledge from various fields, but also written expression abilities, as well as intellectual qualities. This exercise has many advantages: it allows the teacher and/or the students to treat all kinds of subjects, forces the students to enrich their cultural background, to improve their written expression abilities, to treat the subject in a rational way in order to obtain a logical paragraph. Xanthogranulomatous pyelonephritis: presentation and management

Xanthogranulomatous pyelonephritis (XGP) is characterized by the presence of lipid-laden foamy macrophages with both acute and chronic phase inflammatory cells. The aim of the study is to present our experience about patients with Xanthogranulomatous pyelonephritis. 29 patients were evaluated through a complete anamnesis and the preoperative management included routine blood and biochemical tests, urine culture and renal ultrasound, intravenous urography and computed tomography (CT). All patients underwent open nephrectomy followed by the pathological exam. The main symptoms of these patients were fever and flank pain. Preoperative laboratory tests revealed anemia, leukocytosis and increasing levels of blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and creatinine. Kidney failure was noticed in almost half of the cases. This study succeeded to evaluate the demographic, clinical, biological, surgical and histological characteristics. A pathological diagnosis is mandatory mainly for the evaluation of its coexistence with renal carcinoma

The atlas has a butterfly shape, presents an alary hole that is united with the vertebral hole through a wide alary trench. The transversal hole is found on the caudal edge of the wings of the atlas. The axis is particularized by the development of a spinal process, oblong anterior-posterior. The caudal edge of the spinal process is callous, provided with a deep muscular fosse delimited laterally by a bony crest. The dens, cylindrical process presents in front a plan surface cut oblique. The cervical vertebras III-VII are characterized by an elongation of transversal processes, ended with a well-defined tuberous tubercle
