SABEDORIA, ESPIRITUALIDADE E CUIDADO DE SI: : PERSPECTIVAS DA ÉTICA FOUCAULTIANA

The article addresses the articulation of concepts that were problematized by Foucault in his late thinking: wisdom, spirituality and ethics. Foucault analyzes spirituality characterized as a set of practices – purifications, renunciations, conversions, overcoming and modifications that make the subject capable of going beyond himself. In order to understand this experience, the concept of askesis, present in ancient pagan and Christian thought, is analyzed. Áskesis leads to a renunciation of the self that can be resumed as a constitution of the self, therefore inscribed in the realm of ethics.By dialoguing with the spiritual exercises of ancient philosophy and focusing on askesis understood as the experience capable of transforming the very being of the subject, Foucault rescues an ancient experience that can be inspiring for reflection on the possibilities unveiled for contemporary ethics, as it finds a a vanishing point that makes it possible to articulate an ethical reflection that is not reduced to proposing heteronomous moral codes that can harm an irrevocable achievement of western modernity, the autonomy of the subject.O artigo aborda a articulação de conceitos que foram problematizados por Foucault no seu pensamento tardio: sabedoria, espiritualidade e ética. Foucault analisa a espiritualidade caracterizada como o conjunto de práticas – purificações, renúncias, conversões, superações e modificações que tornam o sujeito capaz de ir além de si mesmo. Para se compreender essa vivência, analisa-se o conceito de áskesis, presente no pensamento antigo pagão e cristão. A áskesis conduz a uma renúncia de si que poderá ser retomada como uma constituição de si, portanto inscrita no plano da ética. Ao dialogar com os exercícios espirituais da filosofia antiga e focar na áskesis compreendida como a experiência capaz da transformação do ser mesmo do sujeito, Foucault resgata uma antiga vivência que pode ser inspiradora para a  reflexão sobre as possibilidades descortinadas para a ética contemporânea, pois encontra um ponto de fuga que possibilita articular uma reflexão ética  não reduzida a propor códigos morais heterônomos que possam ferir uma conquista irrenunciável da modernidade ocidental, a autonomia do sujeito
