Identifying through its decay modes
We study how to assign the recently observed meson to an
appropriate level of the spectrum by the analysis of its decay modes
in final states comprising a light pseudoscalar meson. We use an effective
lagrangian approach with heavy quark and chiral symmetries, obtaining that the
measurement of the decay width would allow to distinguish between two
possible assignments.Comment: RevTex, 6 pages - references adde
The effects of enhanced Z penguins on lepton polarizations in
The sensitivity of the mode to electroweak penguins and the
recent experimental data for the , modes has given rise
to what is known as the `` puzzle''. Recently it has been observed
that this {\sl puzzle} can be resolved by considering the new physics which can
enter via penguins. In this note we analyze the effect of this enhanced
penguins on the lepton polarization asymmetries of .Comment: Published versio
Observation of a Broad L=1 State in at CLEO
Using 4.7 fb^-1 of data taken at CESR at energies at and near the Upsilon(4S)
we have studied the decay B- -> D{*+}pi-pi- (and its conjugate). We observe a
new, broad charmed meson state, which we interpret as D_J(j=1/2), in its decay
to D{*+}pi-. Our preliminary results indicate the mass and width of this L=1
state to be m = (2461 +41/-3} +/-10 +/-32) MeV and Gamma = (290 +101/-79 +/-26
+/-36) MeV, with the third uncertainty associated with the parameterization of
the relative strong phases. In addition we have measured several new branching
fractions of charged B mesons. All quoted results are preliminary.Comment: 7 pages postscript, also available through

Finite size effects on in QCD from Chiral Perturbation Theory
We present a determination of the shift due to the finite
spatial box size by means of Chiral Perturbation Theory and
L\"uscher's formula. The range of applicability of the chiral prediction is
discussed.Comment: 3 pages, 3 figures, Lattice2002(spectrum

Baryon Axial Charge in a Finite Volume
We compute finite-volume corrections to nucleon matrix elements of the
axial-vector current. We show that knowledge of this finite-volume dependence
--as well as that of the nucleon mass-- obtained using lattice QCD will allow a
clean determination of the chiral-limit values of the nucleon and
Delta-resonance axial-vector couplings.Comment: 11 pages, 8 figure
Twisted Mass Finite Volume Effects
We calculate finite volume effects on the pion masses and decay constant in
twisted mass lattice QCD (tmLQCD) at finite lattice spacing. We show that the
lighter neutral pion in tmLQCD gives rise to finite volume effects that are
exponentially enhanced when compared to those arising from the heavier charged
pions. We demonstrate that the recent two flavour twisted mass lattice data can
be better fitted when twisted mass effects in finite volume corrections are
taken into account.Comment: 17 pages, revte
