Analyze of the notch effect on the distribution of the stresses in the adhesive layer between two bonded aluminum 2024-T3 plates
In this study, the finite element method was used to analyze the
distribution of the adhesive shear stresses between two plates with and
without notch subjected to a tensile load. The effects of the adhesive
properties were highlighted. The results show that the notch effect is more
sensible when the free edge of the adhesive is near the notch. This effect
disappears completely for small radius of the notch. The presence of the
notch does not have any effect on the distribution of the adhesive shear
