The Spectral Theory of Perturbative Decays
In this paper, we propose a complex approach to evaluate a function sum of
two noncommuting non Hermitian operators. Then, it is proposed an explicit
expansion of the evolution operator in the case of the neutral K-meson system
under the influence of an external interaction. Then, the importance of the
procedure is pointed out to consider the algebraic expansion of the time
evolution operator whenever the dynamics decouples the internal transitions and
the center of mass motion.Comment: 13 pages, TeX fil
The Classical Analogue of CP-violation
The phenomenological features of the mixing in the neutral pseudoscalar
mesons K0-K0bar can be illustrated in the classical framework of mechanics and
by means of electromagnetic coupled circuits. The time-reversed not-invariant
processes and the related phenomenon of CP-nonconservation can be induced by
dissipative effects which yield a not vanishing imaginary part for the relevant
Hamiltonian. Thus, two coupled dissipative oscillators can resemble the
peculiar asymmetries which are so common in the realm of high energy particle
physics.Comment: 12 pages, Latex, 2 figures available by fa
The Scattering Theory of CP Violation
The mixing effects and the --violating formalism for Kaon, B--mesons
and similar unstable oscillating systems, are recovered by means of a method
based on the properties of the complex singularities in the --matrix theory
with unstable intermediate states. General --dependent relations for
CP--asymmetries are then introduced.Comment: 19 pages, Plain TeX, submitted to Annals of Physic
The diagonalization of cubic matrices
This paper is devoted to analysing the problem of the diagonalization of cubic matrices. We extend the familiar algebraic approach which is based on the Cardano formulae. We rewrite the complex roots of the associated resolvent secular equation in terms of transcendental functions and we derive the diagonalizing matrix

The WKB Approximation without Divergences
In this paper, the WKB approximation to the scattering problem is developed
without the divergences which usually appear at the classical turning points. A
detailed procedure of complexification is shown to generate results identical
to the usual WKB prescription but without the cumbersome connection formulas.Comment: 13 pages, TeX file, to appear in Int. J. Theor. Phy
Constraints on left-right symmetric models from the process
In left-right symmetric models, large contributions to the decay amplitude can arise from the mixing of the and gauge
bosons as well as from the charged Higgs boson. These amplitudes are enhanced
by the factor \mt/\mb compared to the contributions in the standard model. We
use the recent CLEO results on the radiative decay to place constraints on
the mixing angle and the mass of the charged Higgs boson
. Significant departures from the standard model predictions occur
when and/or when a few TeV.Comment: in LaTeX, 12 pages + 4 figures (available on request), BA-93-69,

A model independent and rephase invariant parametrization of CP violation
The phenomenological description of the neutral B meson system is proposed in
terms of the fundamental CP-violating observables and within a rephasing
invariant formalism. This generic formalism can select the time-dependent and
time-integrated asymmetries which provide the basic tools to discriminate the
different kinds of possible CP-violating effects in dedicated experimental
B-meson facilities.Comment: 19 pages, Plain Te
Kaon decay interferometry as meson dynamics probes
We discuss the time dependent interferences between and in the
decays in and , to be studied at interferometry machines
such as the -factory and LEAR. We emphasize the possibilities and the
advantages of using interferences, in comparison with width measurements, to
obtain information both on conserving and violating amplitudes.
Comparison with present data and suggestions for future experiments are made.Comment: 15 pages, in RevTex, Report INFNNA-IV-93-31, UTS-DFT-93-2
