    An analysis of english borrowing words in Indonesian telecommunication terminology

    This research is aimed to find out the process and type of borrowing words and meaning changes in the borrowing words from English into Indonesian language in telecommunication terminology, which are taken from Pulsa magazine. The writer uses descriptive qualitative method to describe one by one the borrowing words from English. Then, the writer analyzes those words which are experienced the change of meaning such as in extension, narrowing, and the same meaning. He also analyzes the borrowing types such as loan words, loan blend, and loan shift. In supporting the analysis, he uses some dictionaries such as the current Oxford English Dictionary eleventh edition, the English � Indonesian Dictionary, Kamus Besar Bahasa Indonesia, Kamus Telekomunikasi, and other related references. As the conclusion, the writer finds the borrowing words from English in Indonesian telecommunication terminology. The process that presented in this research are the influence of borrowing words to the changes of meaning such as extension, narrowing, regeneration and degeneration.. But he does not find the meaning progression in those borrowing words. He also finds that there are two types of borrowing words process such as loan words and loan blend, without a loan shift
