Searching for Heavier Higgs Boson via Di-Higgs Production at LHC Run-2

The LHC discovery of a light Higgs particle h0h^0 (125GeV) opens up new prospect for searching heavier Higgs boson(s) at the LHC Run-2, which will unambiguously point to new physics beyond the standard model (SM). We study the detection of a heavier neutral Higgs boson H0H^0 via di-Higgs production channel at the LHC (14TeV), H0h0h0WWγγH^0 \to h^0h^0 \to WW^*\gamma\gamma. This directly probes the HhhHhh cubic Higgs interaction, which exists in most extensions of the SM Higgs sector. For the decay products of final states WWWW^*, we include both pure leptonic mode WWνˉˉνWW^* \to \ell\bar{\nu}\bar{\ell}\nu and semi-leptonic mode WWqqˉνWW^* \to q\bar{q}'\ell\nu. We analyze signals and backgrounds by performing fast detector simulation for the full processes ppHhhWWγγνˉˉνγγpp \to H \to hh \to WW^*\gamma\gamma \to \ell\bar{\nu}\bar{\ell}\nu\gamma\gamma and ppHhhWWγγνqqˉγγpp \to H \to hh \to WW^*\gamma\gamma \to \ell\nu q\bar{q}'\gamma\gamma, over the mass range MH=250600M_H=250-600GeV. For generic two-Higgs-doublet models (2HDM), we present the discovery reach of the heavier Higgs boson at the LHC Run-2, and compare it with the current Higgs global fit of the 2HDM parameter space.Comment: Phys.Lett.B Final Version. 16pp (9 Figs + 4 Tables). Why Do Women Have Longer Unemployment Durations than Men in Post-Restructuring Urban China?

This paper provides the first systematic analysis of the reasons why women endure longer unemployment durations than men in post-restructuring urban China using data obtained from a national representative household survey. Rejecting the view that women are less earnest than men in their desire for employment, the analysis shows that women's job search efforts are handicapped by lack of access to social networks, social stereotyping (that married women are unreliable employees), unequal access to social reemployment services stemming from sex segregation prior to the displacement, and wage discrimination in the post-restructuring labor market.Gender inequality, unemployment duration, Oaxaca-decomposition

    N′-(2-Hydroxy-3-methoxybenzylidene)-1,3-benzodioxole-5-carbohydrazide monohydrate

Single crystals of the title compound, C16H14N2O5·H2O, were obtained from a condensation reaction of 1,3-benzodioxole-5-carbohydrazide and 3-methoxysalicylaldehyde in a 95% ethanol solution. The asymmetric unit consists of a Schiff base molecule, which assumes an E configuration with respect to the C=N bond, and a water molecule of crystallization. The dihedral angle between the two substituted benzene rings is 12.7 (2)°. In the crystal structure, molecules are linked through intermolecular N—H⋯O and O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming layers parallel to the bc plane

Further study of the global minimum constraint on the two-Higgs-doublet models: LHC searches for heavy Higgs bosons

    Get PDF
The usually considered vacuum of the two-Higgs-doublet model (2HDM) could be unstable if it locates at a local but not global minimum (GM) of the scalar potential. By requiring the vacuum to be a GM, we obtain an additional constraint, namely the GM constraint, on the scalar potential. In this work, we explore the GM constraint on the CPCP-conserving general 2HDM. This constraint is found to put limits on the soft Z2\mathbb{Z}_2 breaking mass parameter m122m_{12}^2 and also squeeze the heavy CPCP-even Higgs boson mass into larger values for the m122<0m_{12}^2< 0 case. Combined with the current global signal fits from the LHC measurements of the 125 GeV Higgs boson, we discuss the phenomenological implications for the heavy Higgs boson searches at the LHC.Comment: 19 pages, 9 figures, 2 tables; v2: Refs added, one-loop level results added, conclusion doesn't change, matches to published versio
