A Framework for Semi-automated Web Service Composition in Semantic Web

Number of web services available on Internet and its usage are increasing very fast. In many cases, one service is not enough to complete the business requirement; composition of web services is carried out. Autonomous composition of web services to achieve new functionality is generating considerable attention in semantic web domain. Development time and effort for new applications can be reduced with service composition. Various approaches to carry out automated composition of web services are discussed in literature. Web service composition using ontologies is one of the effective approaches. In this paper we demonstrate how the ontology based composition can be made faster for each customer. We propose a framework to provide precomposed web services to fulfil user requirements. We detail how ontology merging can be used for composition which expedites the whole process. We discuss how framework provides customer specific ontology merging and repository. We also elaborate on how merging of ontologies is carried out.Comment: 6 pages, 9 figures; CUBE 2013 International Conferenc

Reverse Proxy Framework using Sanitization Technique for Intrusion Prevention in Database

With the increasing importance of the internet in our day to day life, data security in web application has become very crucial. Ever increasing on line and real time transaction services have led to manifold rise in the problems associated with the database security. Attacker uses illegal and unauthorized approaches to hijack the confidential information like username, password and other vital details. Hence the real time transaction requires security against web based attacks. SQL injection and cross site scripting attack are the most common application layer attack. The SQL injection attacker pass SQL statement through a web applications input fields, URL or hidden parameters and get access to the database or update it. The attacker take a benefit from user provided data in such a way that the users input is handled as a SQL code. Using this vulnerability an attacker can execute SQL commands directly on the database. SQL injection attacks are most serious threats which take users input and integrate it into SQL query. Reverse Proxy is a technique which is used to sanitize the users inputs that may transform into a database attack. In this technique a data redirector program redirects the users input to the proxy server before it is sent to the application server. At the proxy server, data cleaning algorithm is triggered using a sanitizing application. In this framework we include detection and sanitization of the tainted information being sent to the database and innovate a new prototype.Comment: 9 pages, 6 figures, 3 tables; CIIT 2013 International Conference, Mumba

Obesity is one of the most common, yet among the most neglected, public health problems in both developed and developing countries. In rich countries, obesity is more common among the less educated, but in poor countries, obesity is more common among the highly educated. Globally one in six adults is obese and nearly 2.8 million individuals die each year due to overweight or obesity.Recent studies using Indian specific criteria for overweight (BMI > 23), obesity (BMI > 25), and abdominal obesity (WC > 90 cm in men and >80 cm in women) have found the prevalence rates among Asian Indians exceeding those in the US population. The age-standardized prevalence of generalized obesity in South India was 46% (women: 47%; men: 43%) compared to 35% in the US.In classics Sthoulya (Obesity) mentioned under the Santarpanajanya vikarand in Bahudoshavastha condition.Different Shodhan modalities have been mentioned like Vamana, Virechana, Basti etc for Sthoulya.Hence here an attempt was made to assess the role of Virechana Karma in Sthoulya. It was an open randomized clinical study with Pre test and Post test designs, where minimum of 20 patients suffering from obesity were selected randomly. There were highly significant changes seen in parameters like BMI, Weight, Circumferences of chest, abdomen, waist, hip, & mid thigh, while significant changes seen in Mid Arm Circumferences

Background: Lumbar spinal stenosis is the most frequent indication for spine surgery. The x-ray and MRI are the choice of investigation. Justified use of radiography can be cost effective in the management of lumbar spinal stenosis. Objective was to evaluate and compare the sensitivity and specificity of the plain x-ray and MRI in the diagnosis of the lumbar spinal stenosis. Methods: A multicenter cross sectional analytical study was carried out from July 2021 to August 2022 on 70 patients of both sexes aged more than 25 years with chronic low back pain.  A descriptive analysis was performed for all data. Results: In the MRI, 35 (50.0%) cases had diskogenic spinal canal stenosis and 24 (34.3%) had both diskogenic and non diskogenic spinal canal stenosis. The validity of MRI evaluation for only diskogenic spinal canal stenosis was correlated, where the calculated values of plain x-ray were: sensitivity 80.0%, specificity 60.0%, accuracy 77.5%, positive predictive value 93.3% and negative predictive value 30.0%. The validity of MRI evaluation for both diskogenic and non diskogenic spinal canal stenosis was correlated, where the calculated values of plain x-ray were sensitivity 83.3%, specificity 66.7%, accuracy 80.0%, positive predictive value 90.9% and negative predictive value 50.0%.Conclusions: Plain x-ray is a useful and reliable diagnostic modality for the evaluation, assessment and the subsequent appropriate management of lumbar spinal stenosis

The role of magnetic resonance imaging in non-traumatic chronic hip joint pain in adult rural population

Background: Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has changed the face of diagnostic techniques; it has been used for diagnosing the hip pathologies and is the earliest applications of MRI in diagnosing musculoskeletal disorders. MRI detects articular, extra articular and osseous pathologies in hip joint. Thus, is important in diagnosing the cases of chronic hip pain which indicates a long list of causes. MRI is also the investigation of choice for imaging avascular necrosis, radiographically occult fractures, marrow replacement disorders, musculoskeletal neoplasms, and various arthritides involving the hip joint. Methods: This study was done to assess the role of MRI in non-traumatic chronic hip joint pain in adult age group. The study included 54 patients with hip pain who were evaluated by plain radiograph and MRI.Results: Majority (42.59%) of the patients were from the age group of 31-50 years, majority of the patients, 36 were males (66.67%). Most common chief complaint was unilateral hip pain (79.6%), and most common pathology found was avascular necrosis in 27 cases (50%). There was no significant association between the age groups and AVN (p=0.582), while gender showed significant association with AVN (p=0.021). Plain radiograph was abnormal in 41 out of total 54 cases (75.93%). The accuracy of detecting etiology by MRI in current study was 96.2% as compared to plain radiograph was 75.9% in current study. Conclusions: Thus, MRI was seen to be more effective in diagnosing cases of painful hip joint where plain radiographs may be entirely normal
