DRESS syndrome after short-time exposure to ciprofloxacin
Mujer de 38 a帽os con diagn贸stico inicial de infecci贸n del tracto urinario (ITU) tratada por cinco d铆as con ciprofloxacino. Al tgercer d铆a de tratamiento, presento fiebre, edema palpebral y erupciones cut谩neas en m谩s del 50% del cuerpo asociadas a prurito. Al ingreso, se inici贸 ceftriaxona considerando una ITU complicada. Al octavo d铆a, se evidenci贸 eosinofilia y se diagnostic贸 s铆ndrome DRESS, siendo tratada con clorfenamina y ranitidina, consiguiendo la remisi贸n progresiva del cuadro inicial.A 38-year-old woman with an initial diagnosis of urinary tract infection (UTI) was treated for five days with ciprofloxacin. On the third day of treatment, she presented fever, eyelid edema and rash over 50% of the body associated with pruritus. On admission, ceftriaxone was started considering a complicated UTI. On the eighth day, eosinophilia was evidenced and DRESS syndrome was diagnosed, being treated with chlorphenamine and ranitidine, achieving progressive remission of the initial symptoms
