Cirque et approches artistiques en Chine

Pas moins que dans les autres domaines, la Chine, avec son important contingent d’acrobates, n’entend rester en arrière de ce qui est perçu aujourd’hui comme un certain renouvellement du spectacle de cirque. Alors que les troupes chinoises se disent toutes attentives à l’aspect « artistique » de leurs spectacles, force sera de constater que l’interprétation de la formule varie beaucoup, de magnifiques exercices de style en routines acrobatiques difficiles mais fades. Cet article présente notamment certaines explorations du côté de la danse et aborde la question de la thématisation dans le cirque chinois. Ces expériences artistiques mettent en jeu la place de l’artiste de cirque dans la démarche créatrice ainsi que la relation des troupes avec leur public.As in other fields, China, with its important contingent of acrobats, does not wish to remain behind with regards to what is perceived today as a renewal of the circus. Although Chinese circus troupes say they are attentive to the "artistic" aspect of their shows, it is clear that there is much variety in this interpretation, from magnificent exercises of style to difficult but bland acrobatic routines. This article presents a few explorations in the field of dance and approaches the question of thematisation in the Chinese circus.
