Teachers\u27 Perceptions and Experiences Consulting with School Counselors: A Qualitative Study

    Get PDF
School counselor–teacher consultation is an efficient strategy for school counselors to indirectly serve students on their caseload. Teachers\u27 perceptions are crucial in examining this consultation process. This qualitative study examined elementary school teachers\u27 perceptions and experiences of school counselor–teacher consultation. The researchers identified three themes: (a) school counselors prioritizing relationships, (b) school counselors taking initiative, and (c) school counselors\u27 specialization. The researchers discuss implications for school counseling practice, including strategies for facilitating consultation with teachers

Statistical analysis using multiple regression of stereological parameters for skeleton castings microstructure

In this article authors showed influence of technological parameters and modification treatment on structural properties for closed skeleton castings. Approach obtained maximal refinement of structure and minimal structure diversification. Skeleton castings were manufactured in accordance with elaborated production technology. Experimental castings were manufactured in variables technological conditions: range of pouring temperature 953 ÷ 1013 K , temperature of mould 293 ÷ 373 K and height of gating system above casting level 105 ÷ 175 mm. Analysis of metallographic specimens and quantitative analysis of silicon crystals and secondary dendrite-arm spacing analysis of solution α were performed. Average values of stereological parameters for all castings were determined. (B/L) and (P/A) factors were determined. On basis results of microstructural analysis authors compares research of samples. The aim of analysis was selected samples on least diversification of refinement degree of structure and least silicon crystals. On basis microstructural analysis authors state that samples 5 (AlSi11, Tpour 1013K, Tmould 333K, h – 265 mm) has the best structural properties (least diversification of refinement degree of structure and the least refinement of silicon crystals). Then statistical analysis results of structural analysis was obtained. On basis statistical analysis autors statethat the best structural properties for technological parameters: Tpour= 1013 K, Tmould= 373 K and h = 230 mm [4]. The results of statistical analysis are the prerequisite for optimization studies

In this paper assessment of the morphology and segregation of the reinforcing phase based on optical quantitative analysis was achieved. Microscopic observation of AlSi11/CrFe30C8 composite gravity castings was carried out in electromagnetic field. The purpose of investigation was the analysis of current frequency influence supplying the inductor of electromagnetic field on segregation, quantity and morphology of reinforcement phase in aluminum matrix composite. Technological conception of investigations was based on assumption that chromium-iron matrix of particles dissolved in aluminum composite matrix and carbide phases became actual reinforcement of the composite. Gravity segregation was analyzed. Graphs containing distribution of reinforcing phase in metal matrix were shown

Effect of 5-aminolevulinic acid on kinetics of protoporphyrin IX production in CHO cells.

5-aminolevulinic acid (ALA) is utilized in a photodynamic therapy as a compound capable of augmenting intracellular pool of protoporphyrin IX (PpIX), which exhibits properties of a photosensitizer. The studies were aimed at monitoring accumulation of endogenous protoporphyrin IX in CHO cells under effect of various concentrations of ALA in culture medium and following removal of the compound from the culture medium. Cell content of PpIX was determined following incubation of the cells for 72 h in a culture medium containing different concentration of ALA. Moreover, the cells were preincubated for 2 h in ALA at various concentrations and separated from the compound by medium change and their PpIX content was monitored following incubation. PpIX content was defined by a fluorescent technique under the confocal microscope. In the course of continuous incubation of cells with ALA, biphasic alterations were noted in cellular PpIX concentration. Removal of ALA from the incubation medium resulted at first in a decrease in PpIX content in cells, which was followed by an evidently augmented accumulation of the compound in the cells. The results suggested that in the case of CHO cells, exogenous ALA was not an exclusive source of PpIX synthesis and that alterations in enzyme activities were responsible for production of PpIX
