On Majorana representations of the group of 3C-pure type and the corresponding vertex operator algebras
In this article, we study Griess algebras and vertex operator subalgebras
generated by Ising vectors in a moonshine type VOA such that the subgroup
generated by the corresponding Miyamoto involutions has the shape and
any two Ising vectors generate a 3C subVOA . We show that such a Griess
algebra is uniquely determined, up to isomorphisms. The structure of the
corresponding vertex operator algebra is also discussed. In addition, we give a
construction of such a VOA inside the lattice VOA , which gives an
explicit example for Majorana representations of the group of 3C-pure
type
Optimization of the Synthesis of BNM-III-170 bis-TFA Salt
There has been growing interest for small molecule CD4 mimetic compounds due to their capability to inhibit the HIV-1 entry and possibility to eradicate infected cells in livings. Certain experiments also prove that a lead compound, BNM-III-170 (+)-1, developed in the laboratory has direct antiviral effect and could sensitize HIV-infected cells toward Antibody-Dependent Cellular Cytotoxicity (ADCC). An efficient and scalable process synthesis for the HIV-1 entry inhibitor BNM-III-170 bis-TFA salt (+)-1 is described herein for further investigations. The synthesis employs a state-of-the-art dynamic-kinetic resolution (DKR) both to generate the stereogenicity and significantly reduce the number of chromatographic separations throughout the synthesis. By taking advantage of some modifications from the first-generation synthesis, along with the low solubility of late stage intermediate, the scale-up synthesis has been greatly improved from a few hundred milligrams in 6.2% yield over a 15- step sequence. Now to proceed on a 20-gram or larger scale in overall 16 steps and in 9.64% yield, requiring only one chromatographic separation
Graphite fluoride fibers and their applications in the space industry
Characterization and potential space applications of graphite fluoride fibers from commercially available graphitized carbon fibers are presented. Graphite fluoride fibers with fluorine to carbon ratios of 0.65 and 0.68 were found to have electrical resistivity values of 10(exp 4) and 10(exp 11) Ohms-cm, respectively, and thermal conductivity values of 24 and 5 W/m-K, respectively. At this fluorine content range, the fibers have tensile strength of 0.25 + or - 0.10 GPa (36 + or - 14 ksi), Young's modulus of 170 + or - 30 GPa (25 + or - 5 Msi). The coefficient of thermal expansion value of a sample with fluorine to carbon ratio of 0.61 was found to be 7 ppm/C. These properties change and approach the graphite value as the fluorine content approach 0. Electrically insulative graphite fluoride fiber is at least five times more thermally conductive than fiberglass. Therefore, it can be used as a heat sinking printed circuit board material for low temperature, long life power electronics in spacecraft. Also, partially fluorinated fiber with tailor-made physical properties to meet the requirements of certain engineering design can be produced. For example, a partially fluorinated fiber could have a predetermined CTE value in -1.5 to 7 ppm/C range and would be suitable for use in solar concentrators in solar dynamic power systems. It could also have a predetermined electrical resistivity value suitable for use as a low observable material. Experimental data indicate that slightly fluorinated graphite fibers are more durable in the atomic oxygen environment than pristine graphite. Therefore, fluorination of graphite used in the construction of spacecraft that would be exposed to the low Earth orbit atomic oxygen may protect defect sites in atomic oxygen protective coatings and therefore decrease the rate of degradation of graphite

The Effects of Narrative Online Advertising on Attitude and Purchase Intention
This study examines the effects of narrative online advertising on a consumer’s attitude toward a product and his/her purchase intention, and the moderating effects of advertising, product and purchase involvement on the (aforementioned) relationships. The results indicate that the four narrative online advertising elements (interactivity, vividness, entertainment, self-referencing) have a positive effect on attitude (interactivity and entertainment did not), and attitude has a positive effect on purchase intention. The former relationship is positively moderated (enhanced) by advertising involvement but on only vividness and self-referencing while the latter by only product involvement. The data do not support purchase involvement as a moderator
