Diminishing Signaling Traffic for Authentication in Mobile Communication System
To identify a mobile station (MS) and validate legal service requests, authentication functions are utilized in the location registration, call origination and call termination procedures. In GSM, the VLR requests the HLR for assistance in authenticating the visiting user. The authentication center (AuC) in the home network generates 3-tuples and sends them back to the VLR for subsequent authentications during the user’s residence. If these 3-tuples are used up before the MS’s leaving, another request is issued by the VLR. The request is expensive, because it needs to access the HLR/AuC. Traditionally, a fixed-K strategy is used. That is, K 3-tuples are sent to the VLR for each request. Lager K is preferred to reduce the number of the expensive requests for 3-tuples. However, much waste of 3-tuples is observed, especially when an inactive user is considered. Hence, K value should be determined based on the usage pattern of the user. We propose a dynamic-K (DK) strategy to reduce the waste and diminish the signaling traffic for authentication. Simulation results show that the DK strategy can effectively determine the appropriate K value. Not only the waste but also the number of requests are diminished efficiently
An XCS-Based Intelligent Searching Model for Cross-Organization Identity Management in Web Service
Internet services in distributive organization are normally built on an open network environment. In the environment internet service provisioning cannot be expected executing in a single close organization [1]. Identity management in cross-organization becomes an issue for handling Internet service and distributive business process.
The “identity” in cross-organization web service is defined as global identity rather than private identity from client. Global identity searching table that registers all related service organization is the normal way we used to [2]. Through global identity searching table the target service organization can be looked up directly. For some business program, however, global identity is not necessary registered in specific service organization, e.g. IMSI (International Mobile Subscriber Identification) registration in NP (Number Portability) Service [3], for instance. In NP Service each IMSI can be re-assigned to different mobile service provider if the IMSI apply the re-assignment.
In the example about IMSI in NP service mentioned above, if there is an internet service will be executed according to identity management with IMSI, then it will be a challenge to find the organization for available IMSI in very short response time. To dynamically re-assign a IMSI in different mobile service provider, the traditional global identity searching table will not be practical due to frequently changing the registration of IMSI in different service provider.
To give an intelligent searching model for cross-organization global identity management is a better way than a static global identity searching table management in Web service. In this article the XCS (eXtended Classifier System) classifier system [4] will be proposed as the kernel system. With the characteristics in machine learning and rules management, the XCS-based intelligent searching model can help to predict where the web service can find the global identity in the open and cross-organization environment
A QoS-Based Services Selected Method in Service-Oriented Architectures Using Ant Colony System - A Case Study of Airflights
Semantic web is becoming more and more popular these days, and it’s an opportune moment to look at the field’s current state and future opportunities. However, most researchers focus on only one single service recommend from semantic web inference. In some situations, the Multi-Services which are combined many complex services from various service providers are better than single service. The designed Multi-Services Semantic Search System (MS4), which provides the cooperation web-based platform for all related mobile users and service providers, could strengthen the ability of Multi-Services suggestion. In this research, MS4 chooses the adaptable airflight as a case study. MS4 is a five-components system composed of the Mobile Users (MUs), UDDI Registries (UDDIRs), Service Providers (SPs), Semantic Web Services Server (SWSS), and Database Server (DS). Using SOA, OWL-S to build semantic web environment to inference user’s requirements and search various web services which are published in UDDI through the communication networks include internet and 3G/GPRS/GSM mobile networks. In this airline case, we propose the Adaptive Airflights Inference Module (AAIM) combined QoS-Based Services Selected Method (QBSSM) using Ant Colony System (ACS) to reference the adaptable airflights to MUs
An Integrated Service-Oriented Development Platform for Realization of e-Business Systems
Enterprises need to be responsive to meet dynamic businesses and requirements. Service-oriented architecture can improve e-Business applications in integration and flexibility. Therefore, service-oriented architecture has been envisioned as an appropriate computational paradigm for e-business applications. This paper proposes a multi-model driven collaborative development platform for building service-oriented e-Business systems. The platform supports service-oriented software engineering and application developments. It employs three views, i.e., business view, process view, and service view to support business and technical consultants’ operations. Consultants can collaborate from distributed sites of, e.g., clients and IT vendors to provide their clients’ with rapid system development and demonstration. The proposed platform is service-oriented and driven by three models, i.e., service meta-model, process model and business model. All of these three models are supported by a semantic reasoning engine to facilitate intelligent service discovery, process execution and business-business integration. A simple example has been used to demonstrate its functionality
Design and Implementation of Service-Oriented Expert System
In recent years, the Internet technologies are well developed and the Internet is filled with all kinds of information. Since the data storage is increasingly distributed and data formats are more diverged, data collection and integration for providing value- added services have gradually become important topics. In this study, we propose the Service-Oriented Expert System (SOES) based on Service Component Architecture (SCA) which can make the services on different platforms turn into a common service component on the Internet, concatenate all the service components by combining with the Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), and use both expert rules and data mining techniques to perform the data classification. The SOES is applied to analyze the annual financial information derived from electronic industry in the Taiwan Economic Journal (TEJ) during 2006 to 2008 for discovering the financial crisis enterprises. The experiment results show that using expert rules and decision tree to find the financial crisis enterprise is higher performance
Mitigating Routing Misbehavior Using Ant-Tabu-Based Routing Algorithm for Wireless Ad-Hoc
Summary Routing is a key factor in the design of modern communication networks, especially in wireless ad-hoc networks (WANs). In WANs, both selfish and malicious nodes are misbehaving nodes and cause severely routing and security problems. Selfish nodes may drop routing and data packets and malicious nodes may redirect the packets to another routing path or launch denial-of-service (DoS) attacks. In this paper, an efficient routing algorithm is proposed, Ant-Tabu-Based Routing Algorithm (ATBRA), to mitigate selfish problem and reduce routing overheads. In ATBRA, both the concepts of ant-based routing algorithm and Tabu search are applied. We compare the performance of the proposed scheme with that of DSR in terms of two performance metrics: successful delivery rate (SDR) and routing overhead (RO). By comparisons, we notice that the proposed algorithm outperforms DSR in all two categories. The simulation results also indicate that the proposed algorithm is more efficient than DSR
