    Recommendation of Business Intelligence Tool

    Get PDF
Business Intelligence (BI) is extremely vital for organizations for delivering useful information from the large volumes of data being collected. There are many BI tools available but no single tool is appropriate for every user?s need. Project needs can differ within and across organizations so a process is needed to determine the right tools to use. If companies end up with the wrong tool their needs and problems are not addressed. This research evaluates five tools from the Microsoft BI stack using an application that has been developed and recommends the best tool to use. The tool recommended depends on the BI style most desired. It also depends on the skill of the users using the tool. The application guides a team in comparing and selecting the correct tool. This is a start towards developing a full-fledged application that can be used across platforms in finding the right tools

A functioning consumer bankruptcy code can help those Indian debtors who are paying back with their lives

    Get PDF
Earlier this year, the Indian government presented figures to the parliament on the number of suicides caused by financial distress in the country. Bankruptcy was shown as an important cause of such deaths. Raman Singh Chhina argues below that, while no panaceas are available, the government can provide more effective help to people who are unable to pay back debts due to negative life events by implementing and systematically improving the proposed consumer bankruptcy code instead of resorting to ad hoc and politically-motivated debt-waivers and other such debt-relief packages

Reducing Opioid Induced Respiratory Depression in Post-Operative Arthroplasty Patients

    Get PDF
Pain management in post operative hospitalized patients often involves the use of opioids and other potential sedating medications. However, with an aging population accompanied by increasing co morbidities, there is growing concern for opioid induced respiratory depression (OIRD). Despite this growing concern, there has not been an evidence based method to identify patients at risk for OIRD, nor ways to allocate monitoring modalities appropriately. Our aim is to compare two clinical tools on their efficacy in predicting opioid induced respiratory depression (OIRD), as well as to determine whether our remote monitoring strategy reduces naloxone usage We reviewed retrospective data from our own health system on naloxone use and based on these findings we modified the Opioid Predictive Risk Assessment Tool (OPRAT) into the HFHS OPRAT which we hypothesize is more predictive of patients at risk for OIRD than the Michigan Opioid Safety Score (MOSS) in use previously. Post operative arthroplasty patients admitted to Henry Ford Main Hospital in January - December 2019 will each be assigned a MOSS and a HFHS OPRAT score. Data will be reviewed retrospectively to determine which score is more predictive of OIRD. Patients receiving HFHS OPRAT more than 10 and requiring supplemental oxygen are considered high risk, therefore they would be subjective to continuous pulse oximetry with either acoustic respiratory rate monitor or end tidal carbon dioxide monitor. This cohort of patient in 2019 will be compared with a historical cohort in 2017 (before the introduction of remote acoustic respiratory rate monitoring) to evaluate if the current monitoring modality reduces naloxone usage.https://scholarlycommons.henryford.com/sarcd2021/1000/thumbnail.jp

COMPARISON OF ANTHROPOMETRIC MEASUREMENTS AMONG THE DIFFERENT GROUPS OF THE THROWERS

    Get PDF
The present study was conducted to evaluate and compare the anthropometric measurements among the different groups of throwers. 40 (10 javelin throwers, 10 discus throwers, 10 hammer throwers, 10 shot putters) male university level throwers were assessed during the All India Inter University Athletic Meet. The age of athletes was between 18 to 25 years. All the athletes were measured for height, weight, lengths of body parts, diameters of body parts and circumferences of body parts. One-way ANOVA revealed that the significant differences were reported in height (p<0.05), weight (p<0.05), length measurements (p<0.05), diameters of body parts (p<0.05) and circumferences of the body parts (p<0.05) among the different groups of throwers. Post-hoc analysis revealed that discus throwers were the tallest among the throwers. In the same way, the discus throwers had highest diameters among different groups of throwers. The shot putters had highest weight and circumferences among the different groups of throwers.   Article visualizations

Challenges and opportunities for blockchain technology adoption : a systematic review

    Get PDF
Blockchain technology promises to significantly impact current business processes in industries from various sectors and reduce transactional cost. Firms, suppliers, government, financial institutions etc. are anticipating a business model transformation through blockchain by accomplishing a decentralized architecture of interorganizational dealings without intermediaries. In spite of its immense potential, however, there are key challenges of blockchain implementation which need to be studied for identifying the opportunities arising and for its successful implementations in future. In this paper, we aim to identify these challenges for blockchain adoption and classify them for clearer understanding. To pursue this effectively, this paper follows a hybrid model of systematic literature review. This paper also explicitly enumerates future research opportunities to lead industry and researchers in correct direction

Blockchain Adoption Framework Using Innovation Translation Approach - The preliminary study

    Get PDF
Given the rapid move of organisations towards blockchain adoption, this paper focuses on the niche area associated with blockchain technology adoption. Literature is scarce around the explorative view of the blockchain adoption process and a need to identify the interplay of human and non-human elements at several points that influence the actions and ultimately the decision to adopt a blockchain application. This study investigates the blockchain adoption process from an explorative view and determines yet uncovered aspects to be considered before and while adopting blockchain. For this purpose, the study employed an Innovation Translation approach informed by Actor-Network Theory to identify the interactions among actors at each moment of blockchain adoption. The results of the study are crucial for blockchain literature as it fills gaps of empirically investigated, explorative and dynamic insight into the process and assists potential adopters in realising the interactions required before and during successful adoption process

    Endometrioma masquerading an ovarian carcinoma

    Get PDF
Endometriosis is the presence of endometrial tissue outside the uterus. Endometriosis affects 10-15% of all women in reproductive age group and 70% of the women with chronic pelvic pain. The risk of malignant transformation in an endometrioma has been reported to be low, though there is an increased risk for certain gynecological as well as non-gynecological carcinomas with endometriosis. We present a case diagnosed as having endometrioma transforming into a malignant tumor in a young female. We intend to emphasize that all the clinicians should make their patients aware of the malignant potential of endometriosis and a strict follow up of all cases being treated conservatively should be a must
