Development of Hemp Fibers: The Key Components of Hemp Plastic Composites

    Get PDF
Plant fibers in general and hemp fibers in particular have great prospects for their use in various innovative applications such as ecological, biodegradable, and renewable resources with unique properties. Such properties together with the increased strength due to high-cellulose content and specific morphological parameters are widely used to produce plant fiber–based plastic composites. The properties of plant fibers that may influence the properties of composites depend on crop processing, but the basis for them is provided during fiber development in planta. It is known that two types of bast fibers are developed in the hemp stem: primary fibers formed from procambium cells and secondary fibers that originate as a result of cambium activity. Both types of fibers may significantly vary in their yield and quality depending on the variety and growth conditions. Differences in the anatomical and morphological characteristics of the two types of hemp fibers, together with peculiarities in the composition and architecture of cell wall, influence the technical parameters of the raw material quality. Based on our study of both primary and secondary fiber development in hemp stem that was focused on the two key stages, intrusive elongation and deposition of thick cell wall layers, we suggest the set of parameters that can influence the quality of the mature fibers and trace their biological origin

Small and medium sized business has an important place in the economy of all countries. In modern conditions of Industry 4.0 development, the introduction of big data analytics into the performance of small and medium-sized businesses can become the basis for sustainability growth of their functioning and their competitive advantages’ development. However, the use of Big Data technology is not typical for small and medium enterprises. At the same time, the issues of big data analytics use by small and medium-sized businesses in the context of their resource and infrastructure constraints are poorly studied. The purpose of this article is to develop a conceptual model for the implementation of big data analytics in the activities of small and medium-sized businesses, taking into account their digitalization problems. The study was made on the basis of the Russian economy data. The analysis of the issues of big data analytics’ use for small and medium-sized businesses was based on the methodology of system analysis with the identification of object, environment and project-process development subsystems. The novelty of research consists in the fact that the development model of the structure of big data use was carried out in accordance with the content of the main tasks that must be solved within data management life cycle. The results of the study showed that the main issues of the introduction of big data analytics in the activities of small and medium-sized businesses are associated with a lack of understanding of its benefits by entrepreneurs. Also significant problems are the lack of financial resources and the lack of qualified employees capable of strategic administration of these processes. Given these problems, the authors conclude that the model for use of big data analytics by small and medium-sized businesses should be based on the use of cloud software and analysis of projects with open source big data. The article suggests the structure of the model for big data use by small and medium-sized businesses. This paper contributes to the development of ideas about the directions of digitalization of small and medium-sized businesses in order to increase the sustainability of this economic sector in the context of Industry 4.0. Further research by the authors is connected with effectiveness evaluation of mechanisms and tools of government support made for digital business transformations

Monitoring of trace element content in tap water from Karachuny Reservoir, Kryvyi Rih city

Control of the trace element content in tap water is particularly important for large industrial regions. The estimation of Cd, Pb, Cu, As, Ni, Zn, Mn, Hg, Se and Co concentration in the tap water of Kryvyi Rih city (Karachuny Reservoir) was accomplished using electrochemical methods, the most popular methods for determining the content of trace elements in natural objects and tap water. A simple and rapid method to determine trace elements in the tap water (Kryvyi Rih city) by inversion-voltammetry has been used. The concentration of trace elements was measured by voltammetricanalyzer AVA-2 device that implements the method of inversion voltammetry on a solid rotating electrode made of carbon material. The monitoring of the trace element content in the water of the Karachuny reservoir was carried out on a monthly basis between September 2018 and August 2019. The article presents the obtained voltamperograms of some trace elements, describes content of the trace element in tap water during the year (12 data for each trace element) and analyzes the compliance of drinking water in the city of Kryvyi Rih to the standards and normative indicators of drinking water quality

A System of Didactic Games as a Foundation of Teaching History in Secondary School

Today, an important part of an education system is use of various didactic tools. Among them a significant role belongs to didactic games that allow realising purposeful development of intellectual skills of children, their interest in studies, as well as formation of creative potential and independent work in teaching history. In the course of analysis of an experience of using didactic games at history lessons, the authors were guided by works of S.A. Ezhov, O.S. Gazman, V.P. Bespalko, R.M. Mironova, P.I. Pidkasistiy, G.K. Selevko et al. The empirical basis of the study included practical classes of teachers of history in Magnitogorsk and their analysis at methodological seminars and round tables. Besides, the authors used guidance papers published earlier. An important source and a legal basis for application of didactic games at school are the Federal State Educational Standard. To achieve the set goal, such methods were applied as: a method of generalizing advanced practices of teachers of history; a study of foreign and domestic scientific works in psychology, pedagogy, devoted to the problems of education, non-traditional forms of teaching lessons, modern pedagogical technologies. At present, in the historical education, role-playing, theatrical and business games have gained the most widespread. Analysis of these games and peculiarities of their use at school among schoolchildren of different age groups has shown that a business game should be used predominantly at high school, while role-playing and theatricalized games have already become applicable in 5-7 grades

Abstract: A vacuum sputtering process comprises evaporation of the material and subsequent vapor condensation on the substrates. Getting required and repeatable quality of coatings is challenging task. It depends on capabilities of equipment, type of evaporator, interaction evaporator with the evaporating substance and deposition process. Sputtering process parameters are determined by the ability evaporator to maintain a certain temperature evaporated substance for a long time. Controlling operations sequence of pumping and heating depends on achieving optimum vacuum conditions, in spite of used pumping method. The control system must foresee and identify emerging cracks or damage of the system components. This paper focuses on the development of intelligent control system vacuum process on the agent-based approach. Key words: Vacuum sputtering process Controlling operations Intelligent control syste
