    Periodic homogenisation for P(Ï•)2P(\phi)_2

We consider the periodic homogenisation problem for dynamical P(Ï•)2P(\phi)_2, a toy model that combines both renormalisation in singular stochastic PDEs and homogenisation. Our result shows that the two limiting procedures commute in this case

Comparative Evaluation of the Antioxidant Capacities, Organic Acids, and Volatiles of Papaya Juices Fermented by Lactobacillus acidophilus

Fermentation of foods by lactic acid bacteria is a useful way to improve the nutritional value of foods. In this study, the health-promoting effects of fermented papaya juices by two species, Lactobacillus acidophilus and Lactobacillus plantarum, were determined. Changes in pH, reducing sugar, organic acids, and volatile compounds were determined, and the vitamin C, total phenolic content, and flavonoid and antioxidant capacities during the fermentation process were investigated. Juices fermented by Lactobacillus acidophilus and Lactobacillus plantarum had similar changes in pH and reducing sugar content during the 48 h fermentation period. Large amounts of aroma-associated compounds and organic acids were produced, especially lactic acid, which increased significantly (p<0.05) (543.18 mg/100 mL and 571.29 mg/100 mL, resp.), improving the quality of the beverage. In contrast, the production of four antioxidant capacities in the fermented papaya juices showed different trends after 48 hours’ fermentation by two bacteria. Lactobacillus plantarum generated better antioxidant activities compared to Lactobacillus acidophilus after 48 h of fermentation. These results indicate that fermentation of papaya juice can improve its utilization and nutritional effect

Attenuation and Loss of Spatial Coherence Modeling for Atmospheric Turbulence in Terahertz UAV MIMO Channels

Terahertz (THz) wireless communications have the potential to realize ultra-high-speed and secure data transfer with miniaturized devices for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) communications. The atmospheric turbulence due to random airflow leads to spatial inhomogeneity of the communication medium, which is yet missing in most existing studies, leading to additional propagation loss and even loss of spatial coherence (LoSC) in MIMO systems. In this paper, the attenuation and loss of spatial coherence for atmospheric turbulence are modeled in THz UAV MIMO channels. Specifically, the frequency- and altitude-dependency of the refractive index structure constant (RISC), as a critical statistical parameter characterizing the intensity of turbulence, is first investigated. Then, the LoSC, fading, and attenuation caused by atmospheric turbulence are modeled, where the turbulence-induced fading is modeled by a Gamma-Gamma distribution, and the turbulence attenuation as a function of altitude and frequency is derived. Numerical results show that the turbulence leads to at most 10 dB attenuation with frequency less than 1 THz and distance less than 10 km. Furthermore, when the distance is 10 km and the RISC is 10^-9m^(-2/3), the loss of spatial coherence effect leads to 10 dB additional loss for a 1024*1024 ultra-massive MIMO system.Comment: arXiv admin note: substantial text overlap with arXiv:2305.0882

A Novel Multiscale Edge Detection Approach Based on Nonsubsampled Contourlet Transform and Edge Tracking

Edge detection is a fundamental task in many computer vision applications. In this paper, we propose a novel multiscale edge detection approach based on the nonsubsampled contourlet transform (NSCT): a fully shift-invariant, multiscale, and multidirection transform. Indeed, unlike traditional wavelets, contourlets have the ability to fully capture directional and other geometrical features for images with edges. Firstly, compute the NSCT of the input image. Secondly, the K-means clustering algorithm is applied to each level of the NSCT for distinguishing noises from edges. Thirdly, we select the edge point candidates of the input image by identifying the NSCT modulus maximum at each scale. Finally, the edge tracking algorithm from coarser to finer is proposed to improve robustness against spurious responses and accuracy in the location of the edges. Experimental results show that the proposed method achieves better edge detection performance compared with the typical methods. Furthermore, the proposed method also works well for noisy images

Empirical Study of the Effect of Website Information Architecture on Customer Loyalty

    Get PDF
Website customer loyalty is believed to be very important to the success of E-Commerce firms. Based on document review, this study constructs a customer loyalty effect model which chooses organization, navigation, labeling and searching system as dependent variables as well as attitude and behavior loyalty as variables. The sample of the study was drawn from 250 students who have online shopping experience, 202 of usable questionnaires were included in the data analysis. Data analyses using correlation and regression analysis reveal that there was a strong and positive relationship between information architecture and customer loyalty. Also, organization, navigation, labeling and search systems were positively correlated with customer loyalty. The results could be a reference for designing of the E-Commerce website
