Magnon-induced non-Markovian friction of a domain wall in a ferromagnet
Motivated by the recent study on the quasiparticle-induced friction of
solitons in superfluids, we theoretically study magnon-induced intrinsic
friction of a domain wall in a one-dimensional ferromagnet. To this end, we
start by obtaining the hitherto overlooked dissipative interaction of a domain
wall and its quantum magnon bath to linear order in the domain-wall velocity
and to quadratic order in magnon fields. An exact expression for the pertinent
scattering matrix is obtained with the aid of supersymmetric quantum mechanics.
We then derive the magnon-induced frictional force on a domain wall in two
different frameworks: time-dependent perturbation theory in quantum mechanics
and the Keldysh formalism, which yield identical results. The latter, in
particular, allows us to verify the fluctuation-dissipation theorem explicitly
by providing both the frictional force and the correlator of the associated
stochastic Langevin force. The potential for magnons induced by a domain wall
is reflectionless, and thus the resultant frictional force is non-Markovian
similarly to the case of solitons in superfluids. They share an intriguing
connection to the Abraham-Lorentz force that is well-known for its causality
paradox. The dynamical responses of a domain wall are studied under a few
simple circumstances, where the non-Markovian nature of the frictional force
can be probed experimentally. Our work, in conjunction with the previous study
on solitons in superfluids, shows that the macroscopic frictional force on
solitons can serve as an effective probe of the microscopic degrees of freedom

Deletion of the Mycobacterium tuberculosis cyp138 gene leads to changes in membrane-related lipid composition and antibiotic susceptibility
IntroductionMycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb), the main cause of tuberculosis (TB), has brought a great burden to the world's public health. With the widespread use of Mtb drug-resistant strains, the pressure on anti-TB treatment is increasing. Anti-TB drugs with novel structures and targets are urgently needed. Previous studies have revealed a series of CYPs with important roles in the survival and metabolism of Mtb. However, there is little research on the structure and function of CYP138.MethodsIn our study, to discover the function and targetability of CYP138, a cyp138-knockout strain was built, and the function of CYP138 was speculated by the comparison between cyp138-knockout and wild-type strains through growth curves, growth status under different carbon sources, infection curves, SEM, MIC tests, quantitative proteomics, and lipidomics.Results and discussionThe knockout of cyp138 was proven to affect the Mtb's macrophage infection, antibiotics susceptibility, and the levels of fatty acid metabolism, membrane-related proteins, and lipids such as triacylglycerol. We proposed that CYP138 plays an important role in the synthesis and decomposition of lipids related to the cell membrane structure as a new potential anti-tuberculosis drug target

Mode-hop-free tuning over 135 GHz of external cavity diode lasers without anti-reflection coating
We report an external cavity diode laser (ECDL), using a diode whose front
facet is not antireflection (AR) coated, that has a mode-hop-free (MHF) tuning
range greater than 135 GHz. We achieved this using a short external cavity and
by simultaneously tuning the internal and external modes of the laser. We find
that the precise location of the pivot point of the grating in our laser is
less critical than commonly believed. The general applicability of the method,
combined with the compact portable mechanical and electronic design, makes it
well suited for both research and industrial applications.Comment: 5 pages, 5 figure
Application of cholecystic duct plasty in the prevention of biliary complications following orthotopic liver transplantation
BackgroundThe purpose was aimed to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of cholecystic duct plasty (CDP) and biliary reconstruction techniques preventing biliary complications following orthotopic liver transplantation (OLT) first proposed by our center.Methods127 enrolled patients who underwent LT in our center from January 2015 to December 2019 were analyzed retrospectively. According to the mode of biliary tract reconstruction, patients were divided into CDP group (Group 1, n = 53) and control group (Group 2, n = 74). The differences of perioperative general data, biliary complications and long-term prognosis between two groups were compared and analyzed.ResultsAll patients completed the operation successfully, the incidence of perioperative complications was 22.8%. There was no significant difference in perioperative general data and complications between the two groups. Follow-up ended in June 2020, with a median follow-up period of 31 months. During the follow-up period, biliary complications occurred in 26 patients, with an overall incidence of 20.5%. The overall incidence of biliary complications and anastomotic stenosis in Group 1 was lower than that in Group 2 (P < 0.05). There was no significant difference in overall prognosis between the two groups (P = 0.274), however, the cumulative incidence of biliary complications in Group 1 was lower than that in Group 2 (P = 0.035).ConclusionReconstruction of common bile duct by CDP represents considerable safety and practicability, particularly for patients with small diameter of common bile duct or wide discrepancy of bile duct size between donor and recipient
Synchrotron Radiation Dominates the Extremely Bright GRB 221009A
The brightest Gamma-ray burst, GRB 221009A, has spurred numerous theoretical
investigations, with particular attention paid to the origins of ultra-high
energy TeV photons during the prompt phase. However, analyzing the mechanism of
radiation of photons in the MeV range has been difficult because the high
flux causes pile-up and saturation effects in most GRB detectors. In this
letter, we present systematic modeling of the time-resolved spectra of the GRB
using unsaturated data obtained from Fermi/GBM (precursor) and
SATech-01/GECAM-C (main emission and flare). Our approach incorporates the
synchrotron radiation model, which assumes an expanding emission region with
relativistic speed and a global magnetic field that decays with radius, and
successfully fits such a model to the observational data. Our results indicate
that the spectra of the burst are fully in accordance with a synchrotron origin
from relativistic electrons accelerated at a large emission radius. The lack of
thermal emission in the prompt emission spectra supports a

Comparison of Double Kissing Crush Versus Culotte Stenting for Unprotected Distal Left Main Bifurcation Lesions Results From a Multicenter, Randomized, Prospective DKCRUSH-III Study
ObjectivesThe study aimed to investigate the difference in major adverse cardiac event (MACE) at 1-year after double kissing (DK) crush versus Culotte stenting for unprotected left main coronary artery (UPLMCA) distal bifurcation lesions.BackgroundDK crush and Culotte stenting were reported to be effective for treatment of coronary bifurcation lesions. However, their comparative performance in UPLMCA bifurcation lesions is not known.MethodsA total of 419 patients with UPLMCA bifurcation lesions were randomly assigned to DK (n = 210) or Culotte (n = 209) treatment. The primary endpoint was the occurrence of a MACE at 1 year, including cardiac death, myocardial infarction, and target vessel revascularization (TVR). In-stent restenosis (ISR) at 8 months was secondary endpoint, and stent thrombosis (ST) served as a safety endpoint. Patients were stratified by SYNTAX (Synergy between Percutaneous Coronary Intervention with Taxus and Cardiac Surgery) and NERS (New Risk Stratification) scores.ResultsPatients in the Culotte group had significant higher 1-year MACE rate (16.3%), mainly driven by increased TVR (11.0%), compared with the DK group (6.2% and 4.3%, respectively; all p < 0.05). ISR rate in side branch was 12.6% in the Culotte group and 6.8% in the DK group (p = 0.037). Definite ST rate was 1.0% in the Culotte group and 0% in the DK group (p = 0.248). Among patients with bifurcation angle ≥70°, NERS score ≥20, and SYNTAX score ≥23, the 1-year MACE rate in the DK group (3.8%, 9.2%, and 7.1%, respectively) was significantly different to those in the Culotte group(16.5%, 20.4%, and 18.9%, respectively; all p < 0.05).ConclusionsCulotte stenting for UPLMCA bifurcation lesions was associated with significantly increased MACEs, mainly due to the increased TVR.
