Free Vibration Analysis of a Rectangular Duct with Different Axial Boundary Conditions

    Get PDF
3This paper describes the free vibration analysis of a rectangular duct by using the Rayleigh-Ritz method. Static beam functions are used as admissible functions in the Rayleigh-Ritz method. These basis functions are the static solutions of a point-supported beam under a series of sinusoidal loads. The unique advantage of using this method is that it allows for the consideration of different axial boundary conditions of a duct. Computational results are validated with existing literature data for a simply supported rectangular duct and the finite element method (FEM) for other axial boundary conditions. A validated analytical model is used for generating natural frequency data for different dimensions of rectangular ducts. Further curve fitting has been done for the generated data, and an empirical relation has been presented to calculate the first fundamental natural frequency for different material properties of ducts and different axial boundary conditions, which can be used for any dimensions of the duct within the specified range

Diarrhea (Atisara) has long been recognized as an important health problem in all age groups and is a major cause of morbidity and mortality in rural communities of socio-economically backward and developing countries. According to Ayurveda Atisara means excessive flow of watery stool through anus. In the present study total 100 patients of Atisara were selected from Atisara from OPD and IPD unit of Dr. M. N. Agashe hospital, Satara. For the clinical study Shunthi Kalpa was selected as the trial drug which was given for the duration of 6 days in the dose of 2gm thrice a day. It was observed that 36% patients were from the age group 10-20 yrs, 68% were females, 56% were from lower socio economic class. Sama Jivha was found in all the patients and Jala Nimajjana Pariksha was positive in 96% patients. Among results Dravamalapravritti showed 96.36% relief, 94.44% improvement in Udarshula, 88.85% improvement in Agnimandya, 83.73% relief in Daurbalya and 78.66% improvement was seen in Aruchi.  All the symptoms showed highly significant results. 92% patients showed complete relief among which 60% were within first 3 days. Hence it can be concluded that Shunthi Kalpa is very effective remedy in the patients of Atisara having Amavastha

Influence of Waterlogging on Carbohydrate Metabolism in Ragi and Rice Roots

    Get PDF
Effect of different durations of waterlogging (4, 8 and 12 days) stress on carbohydrate status and activities of some related enzymes in ragi and rice roots was studied. In both ragi and rice roots there was decrease in starch and total sugar content in response to waterlogging conditions. Activity of α amylase was decrease in ragi roots while opposite trend was noticed in case of rice roots. The activity of pyruvate kinase was markedly increased due to 4, 8 and 12 days waterlogging in ragi roots while such increase was noticed in rice roots due to 12 days stress. Treatment of waterlogging caused enhancement in the activity of alkaline inorganic pyrophosphatase in the roots of both ragi and rice

Intelligent Web Recommender System Based on Semantic Enhanced Approach

Today’sworld the growth of the Web has created a big challenge for directing the user to the web pages in their areas of interest. This paper has presented a new method for better web page recommendation through semantic enhancement by integrating the domain and Web usage knowledge of a website. There are three different models are used, first model is ontology based model, second model is semantic network model and third model is Conceptual prediction model which is used for automatically generate a semantic network of the semantic Web usage knowledge

A REVIEW ON ALZHEIMERS DISEASE AND ITS CONCEPTS IN AYURVEDA

Alzheimers disease is the form of dementia and usually occur in the old age. In Alzheimers disease death of brain cells leads to memory loss. Modern science says Aβ (amyloid beta) is causative agent of Alzheimers disease and also some infections, toxins and metabolic disorders. The cholinergic deficiency in this disease is responsible for most of the short term memory which leads to progressive loss of memory, deterioration of all intellectual functions, increases apathy, decreases speech function, disorientation and gait irregularities. Modern science have explained symptomatic treatment which may lead to adverse effects. Ayurveda has explained Alzheimers disease under Vatavyadhi which may be cause due to imbalance of Vatadosha. Ayurveda has mentioned some herbs which are said as tonics for nervous system and memory enhancers which not only act on brain cells but whole nervous system. Exact mechanism of these drugs is not clear but some of them have valuable compounds that show their roles on pharmacological activities. Yoga and meditation is most helpful in disorders related to nervous system. According to research patients who performed meditation and yoga those had less atrophy in parts of the brain. This review article helps to know about Alzheimers disease in modern and Ayurvedic view and some individual herbs and some new things which play a very crucial role in Alzheimers disease

Today’s world the growth of the WWW has increased tremendously, the user is totally relying on web for information. Search engine provides the result pages to the user but all are not relevant so the challenging task is extracting the pages from web and provide to the user. WUM is an approach to extract knowledge and use it to the different purposes. In this paper new semantic approach is proposed based on WUM and Domain Knowledge Ontology. Ontology database preparation, it is also challenging task in this project

Design and Implementation of IOT Based Real Time Monitoring System for Aquaculture using Raspberry Pi

Internet of things is one of the rapidly growing fields for delivering social and economic benefits for emerging and developing economy. The field of IOT is expanding its wings in all the domains like medical, industrial, transportation, education, mining etc.Now-adayswiththe advancement in integrated on chip computers like Arduino, Raspberry pi the technology is reaching the ground level with its application in agriculture and aquaculture. Water quality is a critical factor while culturing aquatic organisms. It mainly depends on several parameters like dissolved oxygen, ammonia, pH, temperature, salt, nitrates, carbonates etc. The quality of water is monitored continuously with the help of sensors to ensure growth and survival of aquatic life. The sensed data is transferred to the aqua farmer mobile through cloud. As a result preventive measures can be taken in time to minimize the losses and increase the productivity
