Bien que la situation bruxelloise se soit considérablement améliorée ces dernières années, la gestion – l’identification, la protection et la conservation – du patrimoine bâti d’Ancien Régime connaît toujours un certain nombre de problèmes d’ordre administratif, réglementaire et scientifique. Cet article entend démontrer l’importance du développement d’une archéologie régionale du bâti : [1] en dressant le bilan de l’étude et de la protection du patrimoine architectural ancien à Bruxelles ; [2] en identifiant les principaux problèmes qui perturbent actuellement cette gestion ; [3] en proposant plusieurs pistes de solution et en montrant le potentiel d’un tel développement pour l’avenir de la ville‑Région.Although the situation in Brussels has improved considerably in recent years, the management – identification, protection and preservation – of built heritage from the Old Regime is still faced with a certain number of administrative, regulatory and scientific problems. This article intends to illustrate the importance of the development of regional building archaeology: [1] by reviewing the current situation of the study and protection of historic architectural heritage in Brussels; [2] by identifying the main problems which hinder this management; and [3] by proposing several ideas for solutions and by showing the potential of this type of development for the future of the city‑Region.Hoewel de situatie in Brussel de laatste jaren aanzienlijk is verbeterd, zijn er nog steeds een aantal administratieve, reglementaire en wetenschappelijke problemen met het beheer, de herkenning, de bescherming en de bewaring van het onroerend erfgoed dat van het ancien régime dateert. Although the situation in Brussels has improved considerably in recent years, the management – identification, protection and preservation – of built heritage from the Old Regime is still faced with a certain number of administrative, regulatory and scientific problems.
