    DFPENet-geology: A Deep Learning Framework for High Precision Recognition and Segmentation of Co-seismic Landslides

    The following lists two main reasons for withdrawal for the public. 1. There are some problems in the method and results, and there is a lot of room for improvement. In terms of method, "Pre-trained Datasets (PD)" represents selecting a small amount from the online test set, which easily causes the model to overfit the online test set and could not obtain robust performance. More importantly, the proposed DFPENet has a high redundancy by combining the Attention Gate Mechanism and Gate Convolution Networks, and we need to revisit the section of geological feature fusion, in terms of results, we need to further improve and refine. 2. arXiv is an open-access repository of electronic preprints without peer reviews. However, for our own research, we need experts to provide comments on my work whether negative or positive. I then would use their comments to significantly improve this manuscript. Therefore, we finally decided to withdraw this manuscript in arXiv, and we will update to arXiv with the final accepted manuscript to facilitate more researchers to use our proposed comprehensive and general scheme to recognize and segment seismic landslides more efficiently.Comment: 1.     The role of prostate-specific antigen in the osteoblastic bone metastasis of prostate cancer: a literature review

    Prostate cancer is the only human malignancy that generates predominantly osteoblastic bone metastases, and osteoblastic bone metastases account for more than 90% of osseous metastases of prostate cancer. Prostate-specific antigen (PSA) plays an important role in the osteoblastic bone metastasis of prostate cancer, which can promote osteomimicry of prostate cancer cells, suppress osteoclast differentiation, and facilitate osteoblast proliferation and activation at metastatic sites. In the meantime, it can activate osteogenic factors, including insulin-like growth factor, transforming growth factor β2 and urokinase-type plasminogen activator, and meanwhile suppress osteolytic factors such as parathyroid hormone-related protein. To recapitulate, PSA plays a significant role in the osteoblastic predominance of prostate cancer bone metastasis and bone remodeling by regulating multiple cells and factors involved in osseous metastasis

    The Paf1 complex transcriptionally regulates the mitochondrial-anchored protein Atg32 leading to activation of mitophagy

    Mitophagy is a critical process that safeguards mitochondrial quality control in order to maintain proper cellular homeostasis. Although the mitochondrial-anchored receptor Atg32-mediated cargo-recognition system has been well characterized to be essential for this process, the signaling pathway modulating its expression as a contribution of governing the mitophagy process remains largely unknown. Here, bioinformatics analyses of epigenetic or transcriptional regulators modulating gene expression allow us to identify the Paf1 complex (the polymerase-associated factor 1 complex, Paf1C,) as a transcriptional repressor of ATG genes. We show that Paf1C suppresses glucose starvation-induced autophagy, but does not affect nitrogen starvation- or rapamycin-induced autophagy. Moreover, we show that Paf1C specifically regulates mitophagy through modulating ATG32 expression. Deletion of the genes encoding two core subunits of Paf1C, Paf1 and Ctr9, increases ATG32 and ATG11 expression and facilitates mitophagy activity. Although Paf1C is required for many histone modifications and gene activation, we show that Paf1C regulates mitophagy independent of its positive regulatory role in other processes. More importantly, we also demonstrate the mitophagic role of PAF1C in mammals. Overall, we conclude that Paf1C maintains mitophagy at a low level through binding the promoter of the ATG32 gene in glucose-rich conditions. Dissociation of Paf1C from ATG32 leads to the increased expression of this gene, and mitophagy induction upon glucose starvation. Thus, we uncover a new role of Paf1C in modulating the mitophagy process at the transcriptional level

    Climate change : strategies for mitigation and adaptation

    The sustainability of life on Earth is under increasing threat due to humaninduced climate change. This perilous change in the Earth's climate is caused by increases in carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, primarily due to emissions associated with burning fossil fuels. Over the next two to three decades, the effects of climate change, such as heatwaves, wildfires, droughts, storms, and floods, are expected to worsen, posing greater risks to human health and global stability. These trends call for the implementation of mitigation and adaptation strategies. Pollution and environmental degradation exacerbate existing problems and make people and nature more susceptible to the effects of climate change. In this review, we examine the current state of global climate change from different perspectives. We summarize evidence of climate change in Earth’s spheres, discuss emission pathways and drivers of climate change, and analyze the impact of climate change on environmental and human health. We also explore strategies for climate change mitigation and adaptation and highlight key challenges for reversing and adapting to global climate change

    Adaptive Backstepping Sliding Mode Control of Air-Breathing Hypersonic Vehicles

    In this paper, a controller combining backstepping and adaptive supertwisting sliding mode control method is proposed for altitude and velocity tracking control of air-breathing hypersonic vehicles (AHVs). Firstly, the nonlinear longitudinal model of AHV is introduced and transformed into a strict feedback form, to which the backstepping method can be applied. Considering the longitudinal trajectory tracking control problem (altitude control and velocity control), the altitude tracking control system is decomposed to several one-order subsystems based on the backstepping method, and an adaptive supertwisting sliding mode controller is designed for each subsystem, in order to obtain the virtual control variables and actual control input. Secondly, the overall stability of the closed-loop system is proved by the Lyapunov stability theory. At last, the simulation is carried out on an AHV model. The results show that the proposed controller has good control performances and good robustness in the parameter perturbation case
