In the title compound, [Mn(C6H4N5O)2(H2O)2]·2H2O, the MnII ion is situated on an inversion centre and is coordinated by the O and N atoms of two bis-chelating 5-(2-pyridyl-1-oxide)tetrazolate ligands and two O atoms of two water molecules in a distorted octahedral geometry. All the water H atoms are involved in O—H⋯N and O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds with uncoordinated water O atoms and tetrazole N atoms, which link the molecules into a three-dimensional network

Rectal hemangiopericytoma in a 37-year-old woman: a case report and review of the literature

Abstract

Introduction

Hemangiopericytoma is an uncommon perivascular tumor. Rectal Hemangiopericytomas are extremely rare. To the best of our knowledge, only two cases have been reported in the literature.

Case presentation

We report the case of a 37-year-old Asian woman with an Hemangiopericytoma rising from the anterior wall of her rectum. Abdominopelvic computed tomography showed a 7.4 cm solid mass between her uterus and her rectum. Heterogeneous gradual enhancement after intravenous injection of contrast material was noted with several tortuous vessels around her tumor. Intra-operative findings indicated a capsule and well-circumscribed solid tumor connecting with the anterior wall of her rectum by a small pedicle. With immunohistochemical stains, her tumor cells reacted positive for Bcl-2, CD34, and ki67 and negative for CD10, CD117, S100, and Desmin. Follow-up computed tomography scans have shown no tumor recurrence or metastasis signs.

Conclusions

Rectal Hemangiopericytoma is a rare tumor with non-specific imaging findings. Hemangiopericytomas should be included in the differential list when a massive tumor with heterogeneously gradual enhancement in the regions of the rectum is encountered.</p

Comorbid Mental Disorders in Anxiety Disorders: Genetic Aspects of Bipolar Disorders and of Ethnicity

Anxiety disorder (AD) is commonly comorbid with other mental illness. It could be a state or trait, controversially. Evidence for an association between alcoholism and anxiety has emerged from clinical studies of patients with alcoholism, and those of patients with anxiety disorders. Alcohol dependence (or abuse) as well as bipolar disorder (BP) is usually comorbid with anxiety disorder and/or depressive disorder, which often coexist and are difficult to distinguish from one another. However, in Han Chinese population, the comorbidity rate either with alcoholism or bipolar disorder was not reported as much high as reported in Caucasians, this finding of comorbidity between anxiety/depressive disorders and alcohol dependence (or abuse) or/and bipolar disorders, possibly at the genetic level, makes the differentiation of their categorical diagnoses in the association study vitally important

A Study on the Design Thinking and Drawing of the Concept Development

    Get PDF
This study was aim to examine the cognitive progress of graphic design involved in concept development. The results show that: (1) Cognitive progress can be observed from the design thinking and drawing patterns that emerge in designing works. The thinking activity was distinguished into general, experiential and evaluating thoughts, whereas drawing activity was categorized into graphic drawing and word description. (2) On the whole, more time was spent on general thought, less on experiential thought, and the least on evaluating thought. (3) There were three stages of concept development. General thought occurs more frequent in the initial stage while picture sketch takes place more frequent in the middle and final stages. In the other words, the process of the concept development was filled up via the concepts formed at first stage and translated into idea sketches at the next two stages

The visualization of the space probability distribution for a particle moving in a double ring-shaped Coulomb potential

The analytical solutions to a double ring-shaped Coulomb potential (RSCP) are presented. The visualizations of the space probability distribution (SPD) are illustrated for the two-(contour) and three-dimensional (isosurface) cases. The quantum numbers (n, l, m) are mainly relevant for those quasi quantum numbers (n' ,l' ,m' ) via the double RSCP parameter c. The SPDs are of circular ring shape in spherical coordinates. The properties for the relative probability values (RPVs) P are also discussed. For example, when we consider the special case (n, l, m)=(6, 5, 0), the SPD moves towards two poles of axis z when the P increases. Finally, we discuss the different cases for the potential parameter b which is taken as negative and positive values for c>0 . Compared with the particular case b=0 , the SPDs are shrunk for b=-0.5 while spread out for b=0.5.Comment: 26 pages, 5 tables and 3 figures, Advances in High Energy Physics, in pres
