Unadjusted plasma 25(OH)D concentrations in Ugandan children with severe malaria (nâ=â40) and in healthy community children (nâ=â20).
<p>The dotted line at 30 ng/mL indicates the cutoff for vitamin D insufficiency, and the dotted line at 20 ng/mL indicates the cutoff for vitamin D deficiency. Dashed lines reflect mean 25(OH)D value for each study group.</p
Standardized estimates of regression coefficients on the âCognitive abilityâ latent variable.

Regression coefficients with and without adjusters, excluding other cognitive measures.
*<p>âunadjâ is from the unadjusted analysis using a single cognitive scale; â5 adjâ is from the analysis using a single cognitive scale adjusting for age, sex, home environment, education level, and weight-for-age z score.</p
Estimates of regression coefficients of an outcome on a scale residual.

Number and percentages of responders to tetanus toxoid (TT) as assessed by specific memory B cells and immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies (Ab) in April 2009.
<p>McNemarâs test, <i>Pâ=â</i>0.71.</p
The gating strategy for identifying the B cell subpopulations.
<p>We first gated on the live (DAPIâ) lymphocytes and then collected 10,000 events of CD19+. These were analyzed for expression of IgD, CD27, CD21, IgM and FcRL4. CD19+ lymphocytes were classified as naĂŻve (IgD+CD27-) B cells, non class-switched (IgD+CD27+) MBCs, classical (IgD-CD27+) MBCs and double negative (IgD-CD27-) MBCs. MBC subtypes were further defined as follows: 1. Resting classical MBCs: CD19+IgD-CD27+CD21+. 2. Activated MBCs: CD19+IgD-CD27+CD21-. 3. Atypical MBCs: CD19+IgD-CD27-CD21- MBCs.</p
