    Molecular docking studies of benzimidazopyrimidine and coumarin substituted benzimidazopyrimidine derivatives: As potential human Aurora A kinase inhibitors.

    Protein kinases are important drug targets in human cancers, inflammation and metabolic diseases. Docking studies was performed for all the benzimidazopyrimidine and coumarin substituted benzimidazopyridimine derivatives with human Aurora A kinase target (3FDN) employing flexible ligand docking approach by using AutoDock 4.2. All the compounds were found to have minimum binding energy ranging from -6.26 to -9.29 kJ/mol. Among the molecules tested for docking study, 10-(6-Bromo-2-oxo- 2H-chromen-4-ylmethyl)-2-isopropyl-10H-benzo[4,5]imidazo[1,2-a]pyrimidin-4-one (2k) showed minimum binding energy (-9.29 kJ/mol) with ligand efficiency of -0.31. All the ligands were docked deeply within the binding pocket region of 3FDN showing hydrogen bonds with Ala 213 and Asn 261. The docking study results showed that these derivatives are excellent inhibitor of human Aurora A kinase target; and also all these docked compounds have good inhibition constant, vdW + Hbond + desolv energy with best RMSD value

    The study is about how the conflict of love in Constantine Treplieff character is reflected in Anton Chekhov’s The Seagull. The aim of this study is to the major’s character personality based on the structural elements and the individual psychological perspective by Alfred Adler. In analyzing this play, the writer uses individual psychological approach and qualitative method. This research is using two data sources, namely primary and secondary data. The primary data source is the script of the play itself, while the secondary data is taken from the information needed. The method of data collection in this research is using qualitative method. The analysis of Constantine Treplieff character starts by analyzing his inferior feeling and compensation, striving for superiority, style of life, creative power, social interest, and fictional finalism. Next, writer analysis discusses the conflict of love that occur in Contantine Treplieff character. According to the analysis that has been conducted, the result of this study shows that unrequited love of Treplieff leads to personality alteration. Until the end of the play, he failed to overcome his personal love issues. Despites all of his effort to obtain Nina’s affection, Constantine Treplieff is unable to achieve what he truly wants which is to be loved by Nina.     The obstacles of the spiritual journey in Serat Jatimurti and the Exodus Homily of Origen

    Many religions use figurative language to convey their teachings on the spiritual journey. Identifying their similarities and differences might deepen the recognition of each core faith and create mutual appreciation. This article compared Serat Jatimurti, a Javanese indigenous spirituality text with the Exodus Homily of Origen, a text from antiquity. This article is a qualitative study to compare their teachings on the stages of the spiritual journey and the obstacles. The finding showed that both Serat Jatimurti and the Exodus Homily of Origen teach that there are several stages of the spiritual journey. It also found out that the main obstacle of the spiritual journey lies in the human inner tendency to rely on self-centred perception that prevents them from recognizing reality and the will of God for them. Both texts differ significantly in their views concerning the human capability to start a spiritual journey. Contribution: This study offers clues on the path to having mutual understanding between people who embrace different spiritual journey concepts and their obstacles. It also gives the voice of indigenous spirituality proper appreciation. Such an understanding might serve as a starting point for a deeper appreciation of each other and to development of further dialogues while deepening one’s recognition of the core of their faith

    Accurate energy spectrum for double-well potential: periodic basis

    We present a variational study of employing the trigonometric basis functions satisfying periodic boundary condition for the accurate calculation of eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of quartic double-well oscillators. Contrary to usual Dirichlet boundary condition, imposing periodic boundary condition on the basis functions results in the existence of an inflection point with vanishing curvature in the graph of the energy versus the domain of the variable. We show that this boundary condition results in a higher accuracy in comparison to Dirichlet boundary condition. This is due to the fact that the periodic basis functions are not necessarily forced to vanish at the boundaries and can properly fit themselves to the exact solutions.Comment: 15 pages, 5 figures, to appear in Molecular Physic

    Vector Bin Packing with Multiple-Choice

    We consider a variant of bin packing called multiple-choice vector bin packing. In this problem we are given a set of items, where each item can be selected in one of several DD-dimensional incarnations. We are also given TT bin types, each with its own cost and DD-dimensional size. Our goal is to pack the items in a set of bins of minimum overall cost. The problem is motivated by scheduling in networks with guaranteed quality of service (QoS), but due to its general formulation it has many other applications as well. We present an approximation algorithm that is guaranteed to produce a solution whose cost is about lnD\ln D times the optimum. For the running time to be polynomial we require D=O(1)D=O(1) and T=O(logn)T=O(\log n). This extends previous results for vector bin packing, in which each item has a single incarnation and there is only one bin type. To obtain our result we also present a PTAS for the multiple-choice version of multidimensional knapsack, where we are given only one bin and the goal is to pack a maximum weight set of (incarnations of) items in that bin

    Selecting and modelling remnant AGNs with limited spectral coverage

    Quantifying the energetics and lifetimes of remnant radio-loud active galactic nuclei (AGNs) is much more challenging than for active sources due to the added complexity of accurately determining the time since the central black hole switched off. Independent spectral modelling of remnant lobes enables the derivation of the remnant ratio, Rrem (i.e. 'off-time/source age'); however, the requirement of high-frequency (≳5 GHz) coverage makes the application of this technique over large-area radio surveys difficult. In this work, we propose a new method, which relies on the observed brightness of backflow of Fanaroff-Riley type II lobes, combined with the Radio AGN in Semi-Analytic Environments (RAiSE) code, to measure the duration of the remnant phase. Sensitive radio observations of the remnant radio galaxy J2253-34 are obtained to provide a robust comparison of this technique with the canonical spectral analysis and modelling methods. We find that the remnant lifetimes modelled by each method are consistent; spectral modelling yields Rrem = 0.23 ± 0.02, compared to Rrem = 0.26 ± 0.02 from our new method. We examine the viability of applying our proposed technique to low-frequency radio surveys using mock radio source populations, and examine whether the technique is sensitive to any intrinsic properties of radio AGNs. Our results show that the technique can be used to robustly classify active and remnant populations, with the most confident predictions for the remnant ratio, and thus off-time, in the longest lived radio sources (>50 Myr) and those at higher redshifts (z > 0.1)

    A Comparison of Solar Cycle Variations in the Equatorial Rotation Rates of the Sun's Subsurface, Surface, Corona, and Sunspot Groups

    Using the Solar Optical Observing Network (SOON) sunspot-group data for the period 1985-2010, the variations in the annual mean equatorial-rotation rates of the sunspot groups are determined and compared with the known variations in the solar equatorial-rotation rates determined from the following data: i) the plasma rotation rates at 0.94Rsun, 0.95Rsun,...,1.0Rsun measured by Global Oscillation Network Group (GONG) during the period 1995-2010, ii) the data on the soft X-ray corona determined from Yohkoh/SXT full disk images for the years 1992-2001, iii) the data on small bright coronal structures (SBCS) which were traced in Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO)/EIT images during the period 1998-2006, and iv) the Mount Wilson Doppler-velocity measurements during the period 1986-2007. A large portion (up to approximate 30 deg latitude) of the mean differential-rotation profile of the sunspot groups lies between those of the internal differential-rotation rates at 0.94Rsun and 0.98Rsun.The variation in the yearly mean equatorial-rotation rate of the sunspot groups seems to be lagging that of the equatorial-rotation rate determined from the GONG measurements by one to two years.The amplitude of the latter is very small.The solar-cycle variation in the equatorial-rotation rate of the solar corona closely matches that determined from the sunspot-group data.The variation in the equatorial-rotation rate determined from the Mount Wilson Doppler-velocity data closely resembles the corresponding variation in the equatorial-rotation rate determined from the sunspot-group data that included the values of the abnormal angular motions (> 3 deg per day) of the sunspot groups.     Treatment Guidance for Patients With Lung Cancer During the Coronavirus 2019 Pandemic

    The global coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic continues to escalate at a rapid pace inundating medical facilities and creating substantial challenges globally. The risk of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection in patients with cancer seems to be higher, especially as they are more likely to present with an immunocompromised condition, either from cancer itself or from the treatments they receive. A major consideration in the delivery of cancer care during the pandemic is to balance the risk of patient exposure and infection with the need to provide effective cancer treatment. Many aspects of the SARS-CoV-2 infection currently remain poorly characterized and even less is known about the course of infection in the context of a patient with cancer. As SARS-CoV-2 is highly contagious, the risk of infection directly affects the cancer patient being treated, other cancer patients in close proximity, and health care providers. Infection at any level for patients or providers can cause considerable disruption to even the most effective treatment plans. Lung cancer patients, especially those with reduced lung function and cardiopulmonary comorbidities are more likely to have increased risk and mortality from coronavirus disease 2019 as one of its common manifestations is as an acute respiratory illness. The purpose of this manuscript is to present a practical multidisciplinary and international overview to assist in treatment for lung cancer patients during this pandemic, with the caveat that evidence is lacking in many areas. It is expected that firmer recommendations can be developed as more evidence becomes available
