Revisiting LHC gluino mass bounds through radiative decays using MadAnalysis 5

The ATLAS and CMS experiments at the CERN LHC have collected about 25 inverse femtobarns (fb) of data each at the end of their 8 TeV run, and ruled out a huge swath of parameter space in the context of Minimally Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM). Limits on masses of the gluino have been pushed to above 1 TeV. These limits are however extremely model dependent and do not always reflect the level of exclusion. So far the limits on the gluino mass using the simplified model approach only constrained its value using its three-body decays. We show in this work that already existing ATLAS and CMS analysis can also constrain the radiative gluino decay mode and we derived improved mass limits in particular when the mass difference between the LSP and the gluino is small.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figures. Boosting Higgs decays into gamma and a Z in the NMSSM

In this work we present the computation of the Higgs decay into a photon and a Z0Z^0 boson at one-loop level in the framework of the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM). The numerical evaluation of this decay width was performed within the framework of the SloopS code, orginally developped for the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) but which was recently extended to deal with the NMSSM. Thanks to the high level of automation of SloopS all contributions from the various sector of the NMSSM are consistently taken into account, in particular the non-diagonal chargino and sfermion contributions. We then explored the NMSSM parameter space, using HiggsBounds and HiggsSignals, to investigate to which extent these signal can be enhanced.Comment: 14 pages, 3 figures, typos fixed, matches the public version, results and conclusions unchange

Coannihilation with a chargino and gauge boson pair production at one-loop

We present a complete calculation of the electroweak one-loop corrections to the relic density within the MSSM framework. In the context of the neutralino as dark matter candidate, we review different scenarios of annihilation and coannihilation with a chargino. In particular we investigate predictions for the annihilation into gauge boson pairs for different kinds of neutralino: bino-, wino- and higgsino-like. We present some interesting effects which are not present at tree-level and show up at one-loop. To deal with the large number of diagrams occuring in the calculations, we have developed an automatic tool for the computation at one-loop of any process in the MSSM. We have implemented a complete on-shell gauge invariant renormalization scheme, with the possibility of switching to other schemes. We emphasize the variations due to the choice of the renormalization scheme, in particular the one-loop definition of the parameter tan(beta).Comment: 4 pages, 5 figures, to appear in the proceedings of the 17th International Conference on Supersymmetry and the Unification of Fundamental Interactions (SUSY09), Boston, USA, 5-10 June, 200

One-loop renormalisation of the NMSSM in SloopS : 1. the neutralino-chargino and sfermion sectors

We have completed the one-loop renormalisation of the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM) allowing for and comparing between different renormalisation schemes. A special attention is paid to on-shell schemes. We study a variety of these schemes based on alternative choices of the physical input parameters. In this paper we present our approach to the renormalisation of the NMSSM and report on our results for the neutralino-chargino and sfermion sectors. We will borrow some results from our study of the Higgs sector whose full discussion is left for a separate publication. We have implemented the set up for all the sectors of the NMSSM within \sloops, a code for the automatic computation of one-loop corrections initially developed for the standard model and the MSSM. Among the many applications that allows the code, we present here the one-loop corrections to neutralino masses and to partial widths of neutralinos and charginos into final states with one gauge boson. One-loop electroweak and QCD corrections to the partial widths of third generation sfermions into a fermion and a chargino or a neutralino are also computed.Comment: 44 page

Relic density at one-loop with gauge boson pair production

We have computed the full one-loop corrections (electroweak as well as QCD) to processes contributing to the relic density of dark matter in the MSSM where the LSP is the lightest neutralino. We cover scenarios where the most important channels are those with gauge boson pair production. This includes the case of a bino with some wino admixture, a higgsino and a wino. In this paper we specialise to the case of light dark matter much below the TeV scale. The corrections can have a non-negligible impact on the predictions and should be taken into account in view of the present and forthcoming increasing precision on the relic density measurements. Our calculations are made with the help of \SloopS, an automatic tool for the calculation of one-loop processes in the MSSM. The renormalisation scheme dependence of the results as concerns \tgb is studied.Comment: 25 pages, 10 figures, Citations adde

Convergent and conservative schemes for nonclassical solutions based on kinetic relations

We propose a new numerical approach to compute nonclassical solutions to hyperbolic conservation laws. The class of finite difference schemes presented here is fully conservative and keep nonclassical shock waves as sharp interfaces, contrary to standard finite difference schemes. The main challenge is to achieve, at the discretization level, a consistency property with respect to a prescribed kinetic relation. The latter is required for the selection of physically meaningful nonclassical shocks. Our method is based on a reconstruction technique performed in each computational cell that may contain a nonclassical shock. To validate this approach, we establish several consistency and stability properties, and we perform careful numerical experiments. The convergence of the algorithm toward the physically meaningful solutions selected by a kinetic relation is demonstrated numerically for several test cases, including concave-convex as well as convex-concave flux-functions.Comment: 31 page

Vacuum stability of the effective Higgs potential in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model

The parameters of the Higgs potential of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) receive large radiative corrections which lift the mass of the lightest Higgs boson to the measured value of 126 GeV. Depending on the MSSM parameters, these radiative corrections may also lead to the situation that the local minimum corresponding to the electroweak vacuum state is not the global minimum of the Higgs potential. We analyze the stability of the vacuum for the case of heavy squark masses as favored by current LHC data. To this end we first consider an effective Lagrangian obtained by integrating out the heavy squarks and then study the MSSM one-loop effective potential V_eff, which comprises all higher-dimensional Higgs couplings of the effective Lagrangian. We find that only the second method gives correct results and argue that the criterion of vacuum stability should be included in phenomenological analyses of the allowed MSSM parameter space. Discussing the cases of squark masses of 1 and 2 TeV we show that the criterion of vacuum stability excludes a portion of the MSSM parameter space in which (mu tanbeta) and A_t are large.Comment: minor changes in text and list of references, figures in eps format, matches published version; Erratum added and sent to PR

Loop-induced photon spectral lines from neutralino annihilation in the NMSSM

We have computed the loop-induced processes of neutralino annihilation into two photons and, for the first time, into a photon and a Z boson in the framework of the NMSSM. The photons produced from these radiative modes are monochromatic and possess a clear "smoking gun" experimental signature. This numerical analysis has been done with the help of the SloopS code, initially developed for automatic one-loop calculation in the MSSM. We have computed the rates for different benchmark points coming from SUGRA and GMSB soft SUSY breaking scenarios and compared them with the MSSM. We comment on how this signal can be enhanced, with respect to the MSSM, especially in the low mass region of the neutralino. We also discuss the possibility of this observable to constrain the NMSSM parameter space, taking into account the latest limits from the FERMI collaboration on these two modes.Comment: 18 pages, 3 figures.
