On the Distribution of the Residual Cross-Correlations between Two Uncorrelated Infinite Order Vector Autoregressive Series
Here we derive the asymptotic distribution of an arbitrary vector of residual cross-correlations resulting from the fitting of finite autoregressions to two uncorrelated infinite order vector autoregressive series. Its asymptotic distribution is the same multivariate normal as the one of the corresponding vector of cross-correlations between the two innovation series. The application of that result for testing the uncorrelatedness of two series is also discussed.
Plan Bee: The Case of an Islamic Honey Cooperative in Morocco
Taddaret Inzerki is an indigenous honey cooperative (i.e. apiary) in rural Morocco that has operated autonomously for centuries. To understand the devolved status of the apiary, and accordingly, explore the often overlooked field of (non-Western) traditional community-based administrative systems and practices, this essay first provides a brief summary of devolution theory (based on Althusiusâ Politica) and the track record of similar policies in the context of natural resource management. The case of Taddaret Inzerki, which is the core contribution of the essay, is then presented along the lines of a Geertzian thick description, revealing both the apiaryâs historical foundation and its three enduring institutional goals stemming from the rules of the commons: ensuring the welfare of bees, properly treating fellow beekeepers, and fulfilling Islamic requisites. The result for the villagers upholding their sacred craft of Islamic beekeeping is that they are able to generate a reliable livelihood and preserve their shared natural resource commons. However, this essay argues that this administrative arrangement also proves beneficial at the national and even global level, and concludes by suggesting potential avenues of future research

Effect of surface finishing such as sand-blasting and CrAlN hard coatings on the cutting edgeâs peeling toolsâ wear resistance
The authors would like to thank IonBond (Chassieu-France) who made the sand-blasting treatments and the Regional Council of Burgundy and CTBA (Wood and Furniture Technical Centre) for their financial support. The aim of this study is first to define the effect of a surface finishing such as sand-blasting on the geometry of a wood cutting tool and its wear resistance. In addition, the effectiveness of surface coatings like CrAlN deposited by physical vapor deposition (PVD) technique on conventional and sand-blasted cutting edges was studied. A reference tool and different sand-blasted ones were tested by micro-peeling of beech in a laboratory. Microscopic observations, cutting forces measurement and cutting wear tests were carried out to quantify the behavior of these tools. The results obtained showed that the artificial wear by sandblasting leads to an increase in the wear resistance and coating effectiveness, and completely changes the type of damage done to the tools. The sand-blasting application combined or not with CrAlN coating showed an improvement in the wear resistance of the tools and a modification of the forces during the peeling process. The effectiveness of the CrAlN layers was improved thanks to the sand-blasting treatment and then the duplex ones performed better.Regional Council of Burgundy CTBA (Wood and Furniture Technical Centre
Modelling the Causal Relationship between Seniority of the CEO in the Enterprise and the Debt in USA
This paper develops a model in which the interaction of Seniority of the C.E.O in the enterprise and the debt can be analyzed. Multiple securities arise as optimal in the model. This allows for a meaningful analysis of interaction effects between Seniority of the C.E.O in the enterprise and the debt for a panel of USA firms from 2000 to 2009. There is a predicted (positive) relationship between Seniority of the C.E.O in the enterprise and the debt. Finally, this paper uses the recent developments in the econometrics of non-stationary dynamic panels to reassess the relationship between Seniority of the C.E.O in the enterprise and the deb
