Study of Spin-Orbit Interactions and Interlayer Ferromagnetic Coupling in Co/Pt/Co Trilayers in Wide Range of Heavy Metal Thickness
The spin-orbit torque, a torque induced by a charge current flowing through
the heavy-metal conducting layer with strong spin-orbit interactions, provides
an efficient way to control the magnetization direction in
heavy-metal/ferromagnet nanostructures, required for applications in the
emergent magnetic technologies like random access memories, high-frequency nano
oscillators, or bio-inspired neuromorphic computations. We study the interface
properties, magnetization dynamics, magnetostatic features and spin-orbit
interactions within the multilayer system
Ti(2)/Co(1)/Pt(0-4)/Co(1)/MgO(2)/Ti(2) (thicknesses in nanometers) patterned by
optical lithography on micrometer-sized bars. In the investigated devices, Pt
is used as a source of the spin current and as a non-magnetic spacer with
variable thickness, which enables the magnitude of the interlayer ferromagnetic
exchange coupling to be effectively tuned. We also find the Pt
thickness-dependent changes in magnetic anisotropies, magnetoresistance,
effective Hall angle and, eventually, spin-orbit torque fields at interfaces.
The experimental findings are supported by the relevant interface
structure-related simulations, micromagnetic, macrospin, as well as the spin
drift-diffusion models. Finally, the contribution of the spin-orbital
Edelstein-Rashba interfacial fields is also briefly discussed in the analysis.Comment: 39 pages, 14 figure
Mnogie sialocele przyusznicy w przebiegu przewlekłego zapalenia – opis przypadku
Introduction: Chronic parotid sialadenitis is a disorder of multifactorial etiology. The main cause of this condition is usually a presence of deposits that narrow the parotid duct lumen. Obturative lesions and ongoing inflammation may lead to the development of retention cysts. Case report: In the reported case, a 56-year-old patient experienced a massive polycystic hyperplasia of the parotid gland secondary to chronic calculous sialadenitis, with total parotidectomy as the only effective method of treatment. The methods of treatment and procedural models in the management of chronic parotid sialadenitis are discussed. Omówiono metody leczenia i model postępowania w przewlekłym zapaleniu przyusznicy
Magnetic Noise Prediction and Evaluation in Tunneling Magnetoresistance Sensors
We propose a simple model for prediction of magnetic noise level in tunneling magnetoresistance (TMR) sensors. The model reproduces experimental magnetic 1/f and white noise components, which are dependent on sensors resistance and field sensitivity. The exact character of this dependence is determined by comparing the results with experimental data using a statistical cross-validation procedure. We show that the model is able to correctly predict magnetic noise level for systems within wide range of resistance, volume and sensitivity, and that it can be used as a robust method for noise evaluation in TMR sensors based on a small number of easily measurable parameters only
Fibromatosis aggressiva of parapharyngeal space – a case report and review of literature.
Desmoid fibromatosis is defined as a rare fibroblastic proliferation. Although histologically benign, desmoids are locally invasive and associated with a high local recurrence rate. When located in the head and neck region, fibromatosis tends to be more aggressive and associated with significant morbidity, which may be attributed to the proximity of the vital structures. We report a case of 33-year-old woman with aggressive fibromatosis of parapharyngeal space. Complete surgical excision of the lesion was performed and the postoperative period was without complications. The patient remains under careful follow-up and there is no recurrence of the disease
Fibromatoza przestrzeni przygardłowej – opis przypadku i przegląd piśmiennictwa
Chora pozostaje w obserwacji ambulatoryjnej bez wznowy choroby
Cognitive Radio MANET Waveform Design and Evaluation
The problem of waveform construction for mobile ad hoc networks with cognitive radio (MANET-CR) is discussed. This is the main limitation to widely use this very attractive technique, which does not need the deployment of expensive communication infrastructure. Two main questions correspond to MANET-CR effectiveness: spectrum sensing and spectrum sharing. The paper presents the structure of CR nodes that enables Opportunistic Spectrum Sharing. Procedures for advanced Dynamic Spectrum Management together with the concept of policy-based radio and a sensing method are presented. In the proposed system, the basic policy is to avoid interference generated by other users or jammers. The experiments were performed in a real environment, using the elaborated testbed. The results show that the use of sensing and cognitive management mechanisms enable more efficient use of the spectrum while maintaining reasonable overhead values related to the management procedures

Multiple primary carcinomas in one patient – case report
Autorzy opisali przypadek 62-letniego mężczyzny, nałogowego palacza papierosów, przyjętego do szpitala z powodu duszności krtaniowej. Przedstawiamy przypadek mężczyzny u którego zdiagnozowano raka krtani i przełyku jednocześnie. Pacjent cierpi również na raka prostaty. Częstość występowania mnogich pierwotnych nowotworów złośliwych wynosi około 0,5-10%The authors describe the case of 62 year-old Man, heavy smoker, admitted to the hospital due to dyspnea. We report a case of a man in whom laryngeal carcinoma, and esophageal carcinoma were diagnosed simultaneously. Patient suffers also from prostate adenocarcinoma. The incidence of multiple primary malignant neoplasms is around 0,5 –10%
