Pausa para Entrevista: Os Motoristas da Uber têm o que Falar

eoi/doi Deposit-Electronic Object Identifier http://eoi.citefactor.org/10.11248/ehum.v14i2.3361Interview Break: Uber Drivers Have Things to Talk AboutResumo: Esta pesquisa objetivou analisar os relatos dos motoristas da Uber de Belo Horizonte e região acerca da geração de renda dessa atividade, em detrimento das condições da relação de trabalho sem garantias trabalhistas. A fundamentação teórica foi baseada em autores que discorrem sobre a temática precarização das relações do trabalho. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa. O cenário de estudo foi Belo Horizonte e região/Minas Gerais. Os sujeitos da pesquisa foram motoristas por aplicativo que utilizam a plataforma da Uber, indicados por meio da “Bola de Neve” e que consentiram em participar. A coleta de dados foi por meio de entrevista semiestruturada com quatorze motoristas e com roteiro composto por vinte e sete perguntas, que aconteceram de modo remoto em razão da pandemia COVID-19. A análise qualitativa foi feita por transcrição e análise de conteúdo. Os dados indicaram trabalho em jornadas extenuantes, às vezes sem intervalo, sem férias e com rebaixamento da remuneração a partir de 2016. O sentimento de insegurança foi outra constatação majoritária entre os entrevistados. Apesar da ausência de proteção trabalhista da atividade, percebeu-se que ela é revestida de alta relevância por atender às necessidades imediatas dos trabalhadores que, em sua maioria, a encaram como ‘bico’.Palavras-chave: Motoristas da Uber. Trabalho precárioAbstract: This research aimed to analyze the reports of Uber drivers in Belo Horizonte and region about the generation of income from this activity, to the detriment of the conditions of the employment relationship without labor guarantees. The theoretical foundation was based on authors who discuss the issue of precariousness of labor relations. This is a qualitative research. The study setting was Belo Horizonte and region/Minas Gerais. The research subjects were drivers per application using the Uber platform, indicated through the “Snowball” and who consented to participate. Data collection was through semi-structured interviews with fourteen drivers and a script consisting of twenty-seven questions, which took place remotely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Qualitative analysis was performed by transcription and content analysis. The data indicated work in strenuous hours, sometimes without breaks, without vacations and with lower wages from 2016 onwards. The feeling of insecurity was another main finding among the interviewees. Despite the lack of labor protection in the activity, it was noticed that it is highly relevant as it meets the immediate needs of workers who, in most cases, see it as a ‘beak’.Key words: Uber drivers.
