    Tetra­aqua­bis(2-methyl­benzimidazolium-1,3-diacetato-κO)zinc(II) tetra­hydrate

    The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Zn(C12H11N2O4)2(H2O)4]·4H2O, contains one-half of the complex mol­ecule and two uncoordin­ated water mol­ecules. The four water O atoms in the equatorial plane around the ZnII centre ( symmetry) form a distorted square-planar arrangement, while the distorted octa­hedral coordination geometry is completed by the O atoms of the zwitterionic 2-methyl­benzimidazolium-1,3-diacetate ligands in the axial positions. The benzimidazole ring system is planar, with a maximum deviation of 0.041 (3) Å. Intra­molecular O—H⋯O hydrogen bonding results in the formation of a non-planar six-membered ring. In the crystal structure, strong intra- and inter­molecular O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol­ecules into a three-dimensional network. π–π contacts between benzimidazole rings [centroid–centroid distance = 3.899 (1) Å] may further stabilize the structure

    Effects of House Warehouse Storage on Fungal Community Diversity of Imported Soybean

    In order to explore the effects of house warehouse storage on fungal community diversity of imported soybean, Illumina MiSeq high-throughput sequencing was employed to analyze the fungal community structure and diversity of newly harvested imported high oil soybean for 3 months with periodic sampling for moisture determination. The result demonstrated that the fungal communities in different storage periods in the high oil soybean belonged to 4 phyla, 9 classes, 14 orders, 15 families, 21 genera and 19 species in accordance with the 97% sequence similarity level. The four dominant phyla of soybean in different storage periods were Ascomycota, Basidiomycota, Mortierellomyco and Mucoromycota. At the species level, classification statistical analysis showed that the 10 strains with relatively high abundance presented an increasing trend with the extension of storage time (C47>B47>A47). In addition, quarantine pathogenic fungus gibberella were found. Through the analysis of Ven map and Beta diversity, it was found that the fungal community structure of soybean samples in the first two storage periods was relatively similar. The fungal community structure of soybean samples in the third storage period was significantly different from that in the first two storage periods with the storage of house warehouse. It could be concluded that the fungal community diversity of soybean samples in the third storage period not only increased significantly, but also experienced obvious succession of fungal community structure

    Silencing CTNND1 Mediates Triple-Negative Breast Cancer Bone Metastasis via Upregulating CXCR4/CXCL12 Axis and Neutrophils Infiltration in Bone

    Bone metastasis from triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) frequently results in poorer prognosis than other types of breast cancer due to the delay in diagnosis and intervention, lack of effective treatments and more skeletal-related complications. In the present study, we identified CTNND1 as a most reduced molecule in metastatic bone lesion from TNBC by way of high throughput sequencing of TNBC samples. In vivo experiments revealed that knockdown of CTNND1 enhanced tumor cells metastasis to bones and also increased neutrophils infiltration in bones. In vitro, we demonstrated that knockdown of CTNND1 accelerated epithelial–mesenchymal transformation (EMT) of tumor cells and their recruitment to bones. The involvement by CTNND1 in EMT and bone homing was achieved by upregulating CXCR4 via activating the PI3K/AKT/HIF-1αpathway. Moreover, TNBC cells with reduced expression of CTNND1 elicited cytotoxic T-cells responses through accelerating neutrophils infiltration by secreting more GM-CSF and IL-8. Clinically, patients with triple-negative breast cancer and lower level of CTNND1 had shorter overall survival (OS) and distant metastasis-free survival (DMFS). It was concluded that downregulation of CTNND1 played a critical role in facilitating bone metastasis of TNBC and that CTNND1 might be a potential biomarker for predicting the risk of bone metastases in TNBC

    Multi-dimensional epidemiology and informatics data on COVID-19 wave at the end of zero COVID policy in China

    BackgroundChina exited strict Zero-COVID policy with a surge in Omicron variant infections in December 2022. Given China’s pandemic policy and population immunity, employing Baidu Index (BDI) to analyze the evolving disease landscape and estimate the nationwide pneumonia hospitalizations in the post Zero COVID period, validated by hospital data, holds informative potential for future outbreaks.MethodsRetrospective observational analyses were conducted at the conclusion of the Zero-COVID policy, integrating internet search data alongside offline records. Methodologies employed were multidimensional, encompassing lagged Spearman correlation analysis, growth rate assessments, independent sample T-tests, Granger causality examinations, and Bayesian structural time series (BSTS) models for comprehensive data scrutiny.ResultsVarious diseases exhibited a notable upsurge in the BDI after the policy change, consistent with the broader trajectory of the COVID-19 pandemic. Robust connections emerged between COVID-19 and diverse health conditions, predominantly impacting the respiratory, circulatory, ophthalmological, and neurological domains. Notably, 34 diseases displayed a relatively high correlation (r > 0.5) with COVID-19. Among these, 12 exhibited a growth rate exceeding 50% post-policy transition, with myocarditis escalating by 1,708% and pneumonia by 1,332%. In these 34 diseases, causal relationships have been confirmed for 23 of them, while 28 garnered validation from hospital-based evidence. Notably, 19 diseases obtained concurrent validation from both Granger causality and hospital-based data. Finally, the BSTS models approximated approximately 4,332,655 inpatients diagnosed with pneumonia nationwide during the 2 months subsequent to the policy relaxation.ConclusionThis investigation elucidated substantial associations between COVID-19 and respiratory, circulatory, ophthalmological, and neurological disorders. The outcomes from comprehensive multi-dimensional cross-over studies notably augmented the robustness of our comprehension of COVID-19’s disease spectrum, advocating for the prospective utility of internet-derived data. Our research highlights the potential of Internet behavior in predicting pandemic-related syndromes, emphasizing its importance for public health strategies, resource allocation, and preparedness for future outbreaks

    Status and Prospects of ZnO-Based Resistive Switching Memory Devices

    In the advancement of the semiconductor device technology, ZnO could be a prospective alternative than the other metal oxides for its versatility and huge applications in different aspects. In this review, a thorough overview on ZnO for the application of resistive switching memory (RRAM) devices has been conducted. Various efforts that have been made to investigate and modulate the switching characteristics of ZnO-based switching memory devices are discussed. The use of ZnO layer in different structure, the different types of filament formation, and the different types of switching including complementary switching are reported. By considering the huge interest of transparent devices, this review gives the concrete overview of the present status and prospects of transparent RRAM devices based on ZnO. ZnO-based RRAM can be used for flexible memory devices, which is also covered here. Another challenge in ZnO-based RRAM is that the realization of ultra-thin and low power devices. Nevertheless, ZnO not only offers decent memory properties but also has a unique potential to be used as multifunctional nonvolatile memory devices. The impact of electrode materials, metal doping, stack structures, transparency, and flexibility on resistive switching properties and switching parameters of ZnO-based resistive switching memory devices are briefly compared. This review also covers the different nanostructured-based emerging resistive switching memory devices for low power scalable devices. It may give a valuable insight on developing ZnO-based RRAM and also should encourage researchers to overcome the challenges

    Effect of coexisting adenomyosis on tumour characteristics and prognosis of endometrial cancer: A systematic review and meta-analysis

    To compare clinicopathological features and survival outcomes in patients with endometrial cancer, with and without associated adenomyosis. PubMed, Embase and Scopus databases were systematically searched for relevant observational studies. The pooled effect sizes were reported as either hazards ratio (HR) for survival-related outcomes or as odds ratio (OR) for other categorical outcomes. Weighted mean difference (WMD) was reported for continuous outcomes. All the analyses used the random effects model. A total of 21 studies (N = 46,420) were included. Compared to endometrial cancer patients without adenomyosis, patients with associated adenomyosis had improved overall 5-year survival (OS) (HR 0.62, 95% CI: 0.50, 0.79) and disease-free survival (DFS) (HR 0.60, 95% CI: 0.44, 0.82). Disease-specific survival was statistically similar in patients with and without adenomyosis (HR 0.60, 95% CI: 0.35, 1.05). Among patients with adenomyosis, the risk of having an advanced tumour grade (Grade 2 or 3) was lower (OR 0.51, 95% CI: 0.42, 0.62) and a risk of having International Federation of Gynaecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) stage I or II was higher (OR 2.23, 95% CI: 1.65, 3.01). Patients with adenomyosis had lower risk of tumour invasion of adnexa, cervical stromal invasion, deep myometrial involvement (DMI), lympho-vascular space invasion (LVSI) and peritoneal invasion. Presence of adenomyosis in patients with endometrial cancer is associated with favourable tumour characteristics and may improve the survival
