Acidentes de trabalho em feirantes de cidade do Alto Sertão da Bahia

Workers are exposed to risks arising from the work environment or the execution of their activities, thus, the objective of this study was to describe the circumstances of non-fatal occupational accidents suffered by market vendors. The data were produced by applying a structured form and were analyzed using the STATA®12.0 software with analysis for a prospective and census cohort study. In the investigation, the cumulative incidence of accidents at work (AT) was significant and higher, most of which occurred during normal working hours and 9.9% during the commute. More than 90% reported some physical injury as a result of TA and 11 of them some psychological damage; Only 15.5% sought some health service. Leading to the real knowledge of the injuries suffered, the occupational health and safety of informal market workers must be more effectively integrated into primary health care and worker health surveillance.Os trabalhadores estão expostos a riscos decorrentes do ambiente de trabalho ou da execução de suas atividades, assim, o objetivo deste estudo foi descrever as circunstâncias dos acidentes laborais não fatais sofridos por feirantes. Os dados foram produzidos por meio de aplicação de formulário estruturado e foram analisados com auxílio do software STATA®12.0 com análise para estudo de coorte prospectiva e censitária. Na investigação, a incidência cumulativa de acidentes de trabalho (AT), mostrou-se expressiva e superior, em sua maior parte ocorreram no horário habitual de trabalho e 9,9% durante o trajeto. Mais de 90% referiram alguma lesão física em decorrência do AT e 11 deles algum dano psicológico; Somente 15,5% procurou algum serviço de saúde. Levando ao conhecimento real dos agravos sofridos, a saúde e segurança ocupacional dos trabalhadores informais feirantes devem ser integradas aos cuidados primários de saúde e de vigilância em saúde do trabalhador de maneira mais efetiva
