    DeepfakeArt Challenge: A Benchmark Dataset for Generative AI Art Forgery and Data Poisoning Detection

    The tremendous recent advances in generative artificial intelligence techniques have led to significant successes and promise in a wide range of different applications ranging from conversational agents and textual content generation to voice and visual synthesis. Amid the rise in generative AI and its increasing widespread adoption, there has been significant growing concern over the use of generative AI for malicious purposes. In the realm of visual content synthesis using generative AI, key areas of significant concern has been image forgery (e.g., generation of images containing or derived from copyright content), and data poisoning (i.e., generation of adversarially contaminated images). Motivated to address these key concerns to encourage responsible generative AI, we introduce the DeepfakeArt Challenge, a large-scale challenge benchmark dataset designed specifically to aid in the building of machine learning algorithms for generative AI art forgery and data poisoning detection. Comprising of over 32,000 records across a variety of generative forgery and data poisoning techniques, each entry consists of a pair of images that are either forgeries / adversarially contaminated or not. Each of the generated images in the DeepfakeArt Challenge benchmark dataset has been quality checked in a comprehensive manner. The DeepfakeArt Challenge is a core part of GenAI4Good, a global open source initiative for accelerating machine learning for promoting responsible creation and deployment of generative AI for good

    BEYOND INSTITUTION-BASED TRUST: BUILDING EFFECTIVE ONLINE MARKETPLACES WITH SOCIAL MECHANISMS

    Researchers have devoted considerable efforts to design effective online marketplaces, especially with respect to the institutional structures believed to establish buyer trust in the community of sellers. Comparatively speaking, the effectiveness of social mechanisms, although practically evidenced as important, has received much less attention in e-commerce research. In the current study we explore the contribution of social mechanisms–specifically IT-enabled instant messaging, the message box, online community and informal coalition programme–to effective online marketplaces. We propose that these mechanisms facilitate social relationships and trust building processes during transactions, in addition to the existing institutional structures. When consumerto- consumer (C2C) transactions are considered risky, the buyer-seller social relationship is more critical for buyers when forming their transaction intentions. The research model is largely supported by a pilot study of 104 buyers of TaoBao.com, China’s C2C leading marketplace.     P12. The Influence of Leader-Member Exchange and Structural Empowerment on Nurses Perception of Patient Safety Climate

    Background: Reports have illustrated the lack of supportive and inclusive work environments is a causative factor of health related absences and nursing attrition. This has been reported to lead to increased risk to nurses’ safety, patients’ safety and poorer patient outcomes. Methods: The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of the four dimensions of Leader-Member Exchange (LMX) (contribution, affect, loyalty, and professional respect) of nurse managers and access to the four structures of structural empowerment (SE) (support, opportunity, resources, and information) on nurses’ perceptions of patient safety climate (PSC). A cross-sectional survey is conducted using a random sample of 230 nurses across Ontario in acute care settings. Leader-Member Exchange-MDM, Conditions for Work Effectiveness Questionnaire-II, and Patient Safety Climate Questionnaire are used to measure study variables. Results: No specific research has examined the influence of LMX, and structural empowerment, on patient safety climate. This research proposal will meet the needs of the gap identified within the literature. Currently data is collected and waiting for analysis. Discussion & Conclusion: This study may uncover some of the processes by which each of these variables influences the next. Interdisciplinary Reflection: This study targets nursing leaders in front-line managerial positions, possibly increasing their awareness of SE allowing them to develop a more positive working environment on their unit that will lead to increased productivity and increased patient safety. Middle and upper management will be interested in these findings to examine positive influences to LMX and developing strategies and training to be provided to front-line managers to enhance a PSC

    Background: Most research on the health impacts of intimate partner violence (IPV) and child abuse has been conducted in Western countries and may not be generalizable to women living in different contexts, such as Saudi Arabia. Chronic pain, a disabling health issue associated with experiences of both child abuse and IPV among women, negatively impacts women\u27s well-being, quality of life, and level of functioning. Yet, the psychosocial mechanisms that explain how abuse relates to chronic pain are poorly understood. We developed and tested a theoretical model that explains how both IPV and child abuse are related to chronic pain. Methods: We recruited a convenience sample of 299 Saudi women, who had experienced IPV in the past 12 months, from nine primary health care centers in Saudi Arabia between June and August 2015. Women completed a structured interview comprised of self-report measures of IPV, child abuse, PTSD, depressive symptoms, chronic pain, and social support. Using Structural equation modeling (SEM), we analyzed the proposed model twice with different mental health indicators as mediators: PTSD symptoms (Model 1) and depressive symptoms (Model 2). Results: Both models were found to fit the data, accounting for 31.6% (Model 1) and 32.4% (Model 2) of the variance in chronic pain severity. In both models, mental health problems (PTSD and depressive symptoms) fully mediated the relationship between severity of IPV and child abuse and chronic pain severity. Perceived family support partially mediated the relationship between abuse severity and depressive symptoms. Conclusions: These results underscore the significance of considering lifetime abuse, women\u27s mental health (depressive and PTSD symptoms) and their social resources in chronic pain management and treatment

    ADOPTED GLOBALLY BUT UNUSABLE LOCALLY: WHAT WORKAROUNDS REVEAL ABOUT ADOPTION, RESISTANCE, COMPLIANCE AND NON-COMPLIANCE

    We undertake an exploratory case study to investigate how warehouse employees work around an Enterprise Resource Planning software that cannot be used as designed due to work practices required by local conditions. Our research illustrates how long-standing approaches to studying IS innovation, adoption and diffusion in relation to fixed IT artefacts say little or nothing about important phenomena and practical issues. We draw on theories of work systems and IT innovation, adoption and adaptation to explain both why workarounds are required and how they are enacted. Our context involves the local Hong Kong operations of a global retailer of home textiles. Our 29 interviews at the site reveal many perspectives about how an inadequate information system failed to support essential work practices and how employees at the site responded by creating shadow IS that helped them pursue their business responsibilities and objectives. We draw on a compliance view of technology use to suggest that unreflective compliance can be counterproductive; paradoxically, reflective non-compliance may bring greater benefit to both the organisation and its customers. We conclude with nine implications of our findings for practitioners and for researchers interested in IS innovation, adoption, and diffusion

    Factors Affecting Nurses’ Job Satisfaction in Rural and Urban Acute Care Settings: A PRISMA Systematic Review

    This review aims to systemically describe the findings of primary studies in order to identify the intrinsic and extrinsic factors that affect nurses’ job satisfaction using PRISMA guidelines. It also aims to analyze the finding according to the two-factor theory; and compare studies based on rural and urban settings. Two reviewers completed study selection, screening, and quality assessment. After data extraction, content analysis was used to categorize identified factors into themes. Thirty-eight studies were selected for this review. Extrinsic factors reported in the findings were: work conditions (n=17), monetary benefits (n=5), hospital policies (n=6), supervision (n=7), interpersonal relationships (n=8), organization culture and emotional display norms in the organization (n=2), job security (n=1), and professional status (n=2). Intrinsic factors reported in review were responsibility (n=9), growth and advancement (n= 7), psychological demands (n=2), recognition (n=2), and job achievement (n=1). Furthermore, personal factors were classified into demographic variables, and behavioral/emotional factors and each of them reported in seven studies. Two studies reported community factors. Twenty-two studies reported the hospital location. Urban studies focused on extrinsic factors while there was more balance in rural studies. There have been many published studies discuss the factors associated with nurses’ job satisfaction. However, more studies are needed to examine the impact of intrinsic and extrinsic factors on nurses’ job satisfaction using more robust research methodology especially in rural and urban context. The two-factor theory can be used to provide conceptual clarity regarding the impact of intrinsic and extrinsic factors on job satisfaction

    The Association between Intimate Partner Violence and Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders and Symptoms among Adult Women: Systematic Review

    Functional gastrointestinal disorders (FGIDs) and symptoms have been identified as possible health consequences of intimate partner violence (IPV). However, whether specific types of abuse (i.e., psychological, physical and sexual) are associated with FGIDs and the implications of FGIDs for women’s quality of life (QOL) in the context of IPV are not well understood. This systematic review examined the association between the different types of IPV and the risk of FGIDs and symptoms among adult women and assessed the impact of FGIDs and symptoms on women’s QOL. Seven electronic databases were searched using the following criteria: English language studies of adult women (15 years or older) who had experienced IPV and reported FGIDs and symptoms; both quantitative and qualitative studies were included, and no time frame for publication was specified. A total of 15 studies (14 quantitative, 1 qualitative) conducted in 9 countries satisfied our inclusion criteria. IPV was associated with increased odds (1.6 to 2.7) of reporting a FGID. Each type of IPV (physical, sexual, psychological) was associated with FGIDs, alone or in combination. FGIDs were associated with some aspects of women’s QOL in the context of IPV (specifically seeking health care). Attention to the association between IPV and FGIDs could help strengthen health care for women who have experienced IPV and are suffering from FGIDs and inform future research to understanding this association in more depth
