Almanacco SBN. News sui servizi CILEA per i Poli SBN: luglio-settembre 2008

In the quarter just ended, a lot of activities were carried out by CILEA team providing support to SBN poles. In particular, for the Polo USM, that is moving to Sebina OL, CILEA has made the first and important activity essential to the success of the process. Other important activities were carried out for the pole Unix client / server (two UNIMARC imports, both completed successfully) and the pole LO2 (customization of the OPAC for the Library of the Regional Council of Lombardia).Nel trimestre appena trascorso, diverse attività sono state svolte dai team CILEA che forniscono servizi ai poli SBN. In particolare, per il Polo USM (in procinto di passare a Sebina OL) il CILEA ha effettuato le prime operazioni indispensabili per il buon esito del passaggio. Altre attività importanti sono state svolte per i poli Unix client/server (due importazioni UNIMARC, entrambe conclusesi con successo) e per il polo LO2 (la personalizzazione dell’OPAC per la biblioteca del Consiglio regionale della Lombardia)

The OSS diffusion in Italian libraries: the case of Koha by CILEA

Koha is an open-source Integrated Library System (ILS) developed in New Zealand and deployed for the first time in January of 2000 for Horowhenua Library Trust. Koha is a full-fledged software with basic and advanced features. Koha has also a strong and wide community of librarians and developers. In particular, it is suitable to all institutions who want to automate their libraries using a system that allows a complete control over data and over software itself. CILEA worked to adapt Koha to Italian libraries and now it is a part of the community

Almanacco SBN. News sui servizi CILEA per i Poli SBN: gennaio - giugno 2008

The Almanacco SBN is born as a column that will try to bring up to date and to inform on the diverse services offered by CILEA to the outsourced SBN poles. This column, as a result of the collaboration of all the people involved in the SBN teams, is designed to inform the users in the most clear, exhaustive and quick way. [en]To make easier the reading of the Almanacco, the news are divided into three sections depending on the software used in the referential pole (SBN Unix client/server, SBN Sebina and Bibliowin). Each section presents its news (in the parts Eventi e news and Nuove adesioni) and short deepenings to know in the details the SBN poles managed by CILEA (section: Le biblioteche si raccontano). At the end of the column there will be a short bibliography to go deeper in the examined themes.Nasce da oggi l’Almanacco SBN, una nuova rubrica che cercherà di aggiornare e informare sui molteplici servizi che il CILEA fornisce ai poli SBN in affidamento. Frutto della collaborazione di tutte le persone che compongono i team SBN, la rubrica è pensata e strutturata per informare in modo veloce ma anche il più possibile chiaro ed esaustivo. Per rendere più agevole la lettura, le notizie sono in tre sezioni distinte in base al software in uso presso il polo di ri¬ferimento (SBN Unix client/server, SBN Sebina e Bibliowin). In ciascuna sezione si trovano novità (nei paragrafi Eventi e news e Nuove adesioni) e brevi approfondimenti per conoscere meglio i poli SBN gestiti dal CILEA (para¬grafi Le biblioteche si accontano). Completo di tutti i principali moduli per la gestione di una biblioteca e con funzionalità sia di base che avanzate, Koha si adatta alle esigenze di realtà bibliotecarie di ogni dimensione, grazie alla sua estrema facilità di utilizzo e versatilità. In particolare, esso è rivolto a tutti gli enti che, per esigenze diverse, vogliano automatizzare le proprie biblioteche utilizzando un software che permetta un controllo completo sia sui dati che sul software stesso

Sportello unificato di Help Desk del progetto Biblioteche nelle Scuole

The help within the Biblioteche nelle Scuole project (which aims at integrating school libraries into the Servizio bibliotecario Nazionale) has become remarkably important. A complete assistance system has constantly moni-tored and helped all the participants. Such system is able to answer any request, thanks to the cooperation of the three organising consortia (CILEA, CASPUR, CINECA), the Ministero della Pubblica Istruzione and other experts. The help desk was structured into several addresses, according to specific topics, all reachable from a unified por-tal.L’assistenza nell’ambito del progetto Biblioteche nelle Scuole (il cui scopo è di integrare le biblioteche scolastiche nel Servizio Bibliotecario Nazionale) ha assunto un notevole rilievo. Tutti i partecipanti sono stati costantemente seguiti e accompagnati durante lo svolgimento del progetto da un sistema completo di assistenza pronto a rispon-dere alle più svariate esigenze, grazie anche alla cooperazione tra i tre consorzi organizzatori (CILEA, CASPUR, CINECA), il Ministero della Pubblica Istruzione e esperti delle materie. L’help desk è stato strutturato in più indi-rizzi, secondo tematiche specifiche, tutti raggiungibili da un unico sportello unificato

Progettazione e realizzazione dei materiali didattici per “Biblioteche nelle Scuole”: Learning Object SCORM

In a cooperative working environment it is fundamental to find new quality content packaging methods delivering appropriate tools and the needed specific knowledge. In the “Biblioteche nelle Scuole” project this key consideration has been applied to the specialization course (the 'Program') that school librarians have to attend to be part of the National Library System (SBN - Servizio Bibliotecario Nazionale). The Program is addressed to numerous and diverse groups of people located throughout the country. The deriving structural and organisational implications have influenced the course planning, both in terms of content and learning materials. The teaching modules have been realized as 'Learning Object', which are SCORM compliant, interactive, exhaustive and adaptable to specific objectives. The Learning Object are always accessible self-study mode, allowing a complete independence of the student.In un contesto di lavoro cooperativo è fondamentale riuscire a fornire nuovi modi di confezionare contenuti di qualità entro strumenti idonei e conoscenze specifiche. Il progetto “Biblioteche nelle Scuole” ha posto come centrale questa esigenza formativa, adattandola al percorso di specializzazione che il personale addetto alla biblioteca scolastica deve intraprendere per aderire al Servizio Bibliotecario Nazionale. Le implicazioni organizzative e strutturali, derivanti dall’esigenza di coinvolgere un numero considerevole ed eterogeneo di persone dislocate nel territorio nazionale, hanno determinato la pianificazione didattica, oltre che nei contenuti, anche nella tipologia dei materiali formativi. Le unità didattiche hanno trovato così realizzazione in Learning Object, resi accessibili autodidatticamente sempre e in totale indipendenza, conformi allo standard SCORM, esaustivi, interattivi e adattabili agli obiettivi specifici

La formazione nel progetto “Biblioteche nelle Scuole”: un esempio di blended learning al servizio delle biblioteche

The Biblioteche nelle Scuole (School Libraries) project is among the measures adopted together by the Ministero della Pubblica Istruzione (Public Education Department) and the Dipartimento dell'Innovazione Tecnologica (Technological Innovation Department), with the collaboration of the Istituto Centrale per il Catalogo Unico (Central Institute for the Unique Catalogue) and the Ministero per i Beni e le Attività Culturali (Department of Cultural Assets and Activities). The purpose of the project is to integrate school libraries into the National Librarian System. CILEA received the task, among the others, of organising and managing the education. The approach adopted for the didactic was one of blended learning with e-learning alternated with class learning with practical exercises. The blended learning approach had the purpose of creating and activating an on-line professional community of the people working in school library, to be used as a working and sharing environment.Il progetto Biblioteche nelle Scuole si inserisce tra le misure congiunte del Ministero della Pubblica Istruzione (MPI) e del Dipartimento dell'Innovazione Tecnologica (DIT), con la collaborazione dell'Istituto Centrale per il Catalogo Unico (ICCU) e del Ministero per i Beni e le Attività Culturali (MiBAC). Scopo del progetto è integrare le biblioteche scolastiche nel Servizio Bibliotecario Nazionale (SBN). Al CILEA è stata affidata, tra l’altro, l’organizzazione e la gestione delle attività formative. Per la didattica è stato adottato un approccio in “blended” learning con sessioni di attività in modalità e-learning alternate a studio e incontri in presenza con esercitazioni pratiche in aula. L’approccio in blended learning ha avuto anche come obiettivo la creazione e l’attivazione di una comunità professionale online degli operatori delle biblioteche scolastiche intesa come area di lavoro e scambio
