The importance of the paper resides in the presentation of the impact that the economic downturn had on the European tourism, taking a closer look also in the investment in hotel industry in 2010. The paperâ€(tm)s objectives took into consideration the current situation and by proposing the rural tourism as an alternative we offer a solution in order to minimise its effects on this specific activity sector. The subject has not been extensively debated in the specialized literature even though it represents a current issue both regarding the private business environment as well as the main national and international bodies that regulate the tourism industry. The research metodology consists in a SWOT analysis through which we prove the rural and ecotourism to be a viable solution in order to minimise the downturn of the industry for countries in CEE. The added value of the paper consists in the analysis of o subject that is too little taken into consideration and of big importance for the companies acting in this specific domain.european tourism, financial crisis, rural tourism, ecotourism

In a globalised economy transport is one of the most important factors linking the national economies and maritime transport is the main way to deliver goods in international trade. For any international company, choosing the appropriate transportation as part of the logistic solution is vital for its competitiveness. In the context of the economic crisis, CEE strategic location factors play an important role for regional companies which adapt and change their logistic services by developing new scenarios for the shipping industry in order to obtain a better position on the global market. In addition to a favourable geographical location CEE has several other important arguments, like sufficient harbours for developing container terminals to launch extensive container transport transit. The most important recent trends in logistics are shown, as well as the framework of the EU maritime transport.maritime transport, EU transport strategy, supply chain strategy

ACHIEVING SUSTAINABLE SECURITY â€" VULNERABLE PUBLIC GOOD IN THE CONTEXT OF A NONPOLAR SECURITY ENVIRONMENT. SHIFTS IN THE CONCEPT OF SECURITY

It is important to start our assumptions from the fact that, from some economistsâ€(tm) point of view, most of the cases which were considered examples of actual public goods were found to be wrong. So, what we want to find out is whether, considering the fact that security must not be provided only through private means, we can still talk about an equal distribution of it, or it has shifted to a selective distribution of security. In order to answer the question whether security can still be provided by the state in an equal distributional system, we will use it as a premise and try to prove it. Beginning with the theoretical characteristics of a public good and with the definitions of the present concept of security we will try to find out if one can still speak of security as a public good, and moreover, as a global public good.public goods, global public good, security

Our paper emphasizes the strategic importance of CSR both for companies and society as well. A comprehensive literature review reflects the challenges mainly associated with two different approaches: CSR as a profitable business practice that consolidates a good corporate image, or CSR as an inefficient way of using corporate resources, negatively correlated with financial performance. Our paper brings theoretical and practical evidence proving that CSR improves the business commercial and financial performance; certain correlations should be established between social and financial indicators. As a case study, we analyze an international company on the Romanian market that has increased its business performance by adopting different CSR measures.peer-reviewe

Organizing a trade mission abroad is part of a company’s policy of prospecting external markets. But due to the importance of such events for the foreign trade, the Government and other institutions can help companies in organizing them. When the Chamber of Commerce perceives an overseas market opportunity for an industry, it could organize a trade mission in order to gather more information. The purpose of the commercial mission is to send a group of executives from firms in the industry to a country or group of countries to learn firsthand about the market, meet important customers face to face and establish contacts with people interested in representing their products. State governments, trade associations, chambers of commerce and other export-oriented organizations also organize trade missions.commercial mission; chamber of commerce; trade association
